I started liking them less a few years back when they de-emphaized the reef girls in thier ads and started actually showing footwear in them.

reef girls

WHOLEY MOLEY!!!!! That could give a guy a foot fetish real fast 😀

In the past I would get sandals from chinatown in LA for $2 a pair. They lasted about 3-5 weeks max and weren't comfortable.

Then when I was down in San Diego, I saw REEF sandals. Bought a pair for $35 and they lasted me 5 years, up until this past weekend when the toe "strap" finally came off. Most importantly, they were the most comfortable pieces of rubber I've ever placed on my large feet. I tried on a few pairs of Rainbow sandals but they weren't as comfortable. Maybe they need a longer break in period. *shrug*

my 2 cents yo.

The ads they used to place in surf magazines were basically a two-page spread of a hot chick lying on a tropical beach somewhere, and then they'd have a small picture of a professional surfer (surfing - and therefore not wearing sandals) in one of the corners. Then they'd have the reef logo. Not a single shoe or sandal in the ad anywhere.

Now their ads have a big picture of a professional surfer, a small pic of a hot girl on a beach somewhere, and a small pic of a shoe or a sandal. It's not quite the same.

if you're paying 20 - 30+ for Reefs, you're robbing yourself. My last pair cost 15 bucks at Nordstrom Rack.
The flip flops cost $15, it's the sandals that cost $30

You shut up!

All real men wear flip flops! Wearing boots on the beach just isn't as butch as you think it is. 😉
