Not unless someone's really hitting the keys hard. Then I want to choke the sh!t out of them. Had one guy in the CS lab when I was in school who would do that... and talk a lot and loudy in there. God was that fscker annoying.

It's the movie sound effects people who drive me crazy. Whenever someone types onscreen its always loud and fast. The other thing is the total lack of mice in movies. Everybody always navigates by keystrokes, never with mouse clicks.

Don't hate it, but it gets annoying. Luckily, I have a ComfortCurve at home, which has low profile and quiet keys. I've always wondered if someone could analyse and record the sound of each individual key, then know exactly what you were typing by matching the sound to a key. Think I remember a study being done that showed that it was possible.

even on laptops sometimes...

my roommate is in college (i'm 37 LOL) and i never knew teenagers were SO friggin' annoying. she literally POUNDS on her laptop keyboard when she types and she types REALLY fast. she can sit in the living room with me while i'm trying to watch tv and play poker at night and between the typing sounds (she's on facebook and MSN constantly), the phone calls/text msgs/IM's and talking loudly even when it's obvious i'm watching something or otherwise concentrating, i'm serously considering kicking her out after only 3 months. LOL

<end of rant>

thanks, i needed that.

If you have access to his keyboard when he's not there, pry some of the keys off and put glue inside the keyboard. Replace the keys and let it dry, oh noes, time to buy a new keyboard.

I used to hate it, but now I can't compute without it. My dad hates it, and my mother pounds away like the hammers of hell. I need to get her a rollaway keyboard.

I think they feel different than other keyboards. More spring to them. I end up typing faster on them and I get to drive my coworkers nuts with the storm of clicks :evil:

and you're a whiny bitch who's too panzy-ass to be able to sleep with even the slightest noise :p

Just bite the bullet and buy him a keyboard. You don't like listening to him type when you sleep and we don't like listening to you bitch :p ;)

About a week after I replaced our old clickey keyboards and brought in some new PCs with quiet keyboards, I was told we needed a white-noise system.

Shoulda just kept the keyboards.

It's not the sounds they buy the keyboard for, it's the tactile response.
