I don't think i've ever used it...and judging by all the crud over that part of my keyboard will say so.

hell yea when I have one. I have a big dell lappy with a 10 key, but lately it has been a chromebook. That is the second worst thing bout this chromebook. The first is the broken '2' key thanks to the Jack Russell terrier.

Now that you mention it... I don't remember the last time I used any of the keys on that side of the keyboard.

I remember setting up a separate keypad for an accountant at my work, she did payroll. There was even a key that did 000. Told her to feel free hitting that a few times extra when doing my pay cheque. :p

Curious as to why the numbers are in a different order vs. a phone?

You could really confuse someone by changing the keys on a keyboard

Who doesn't use the 10 key on a keyboard? Who buys non full size keyboards without the 10 key?

I switched over to a nice mech keyboard without a numpad at home about a year ago and don’t miss it. I keep a separate USB num pad in my closet which I bust out once a year for taxes.

Work laptop keyboard and external keyboard are both full size and I never use the number keys .. feels faster to just reach up and use the topside numbers.

The most I use the number keypad is assigning hotkeys to stuff like next track / previous track if I want to change music while gaming or something.

If you actually type more effectively with a keypad then you probably come from an accounting background - or just an old tyme background where you used calculators or some shit at your desk.

The numpad is the only time I halfway look like I know what I'm doing with a keyboard, especially with my work mechanical that has light touch keys.
