Do you guys do this when you play games or run a benchmark?

I'm wondering if leaving my anti-virus, norton personal firewall, and AIM on will decrease performance while playing a game or running a benchmark? Do you guys leave it on or disable it?

I have found that if I leave my Norton antivirous and firwall on i loose 3 to 4 fps in game. but loading times increase 10 to 30 seconds depending on the game.

Disable when running a benchmark, just leave it as is for gaming. mIRC gets left on aswell, if its already running.

They are right...disable everything when run benchmark will give you some increases but for playing games just leave them on will not hurt you

When I play Splinter Cell I leave Winfax Pro 10, NAV 2002, Trillian Pro, and Zone Alarm Pro 3 on
