one of my friends owns his own company and doesn't have a lot of employees and doesn't get a chance to meet a lot of new women. He has put up a profile and picture on one of those internet dating websites. Do you guys think this is a good idea? have you done it before? Do decent women actually participate in those sites, or do you get the sludge at the bottom of the barrel?

I'm curious if anyone here has any experience so that I can relay this information back to him. Thanks.

Well, think of it this way:

Is your friend the sludge at the bottom of the barrel?

If not, then there's a good chance that the women he may hear from are in the same position as him. 🙂
 
I have no experience with this but it seems to me that all of the decent woman don't have such a hard time finding men that they need an internet dating website.

Problem is, most dating sites are clogged with spambots, so be careful.
 
Nope. I've heard some of the profiles are bogus. In the sense its just these "women" e-mail you back and want you to come to their "website" and try to scam you for your CC # as some kind of id check.

anyways, no my friend is really good looking, pretty wealthy, and nice, and smart. He goes clubbing off and on and hooks up with the occasional girl that he forgets the name of the next day, but he wants something special. He wants a girl that isn't a club whore. But he only has people working under him, no partners, and he doesn't think that he should date them. Also, he only has a few employees. He's thinking to ask his friends to hook him up but he never has asked his guy friends for that before. but he's out of college now and its hard to meet girls. in college it was so much easier for him. so that is why he is trying this internet dating thing. he figures he may find another person in his shoes but doubts it because not many people are in his shoes and 25.

He keeps a low profile. growing up he detested people that flaunted money and power, and so he will never do this. besides he hates gold diggers.

Would NOT meet a man from the internet, personals, or a blind date. I don't necessarily think that there is anything wrong with it but I just would not do it.🙂

Yes. My friend can be shallow at times. He is happy now. So these internet sites do have hot girls. Yipeee!! for my friend.

Oh man Sher, thanks to etech and his like to the Indian Times or whatever it was, I've married three women tonight alone. There's a dating site in India with like 11000 proposals. I limited it to brides with pics and had to clean up. Knocked over a bottle of Dr. Moonbeams white root injection. I'll see if I can find it for you, but I already proposed to a bunch of um, so be nice. Back soon I hope with your link.

no i dont' think you understand. my friend DOES NOT WANT TO GET MARRIED. And he does not want to date girls 10,000 miles away.



He isn't into 'virtual dating.' he only needs the internet as an initial meeting place, but he wants to then date the girls in real life.


 
I met a woman through one of the sites and we've become pretty good friends. She's new to town (lived 3 hrs away) and was just looking for some new friends and I must say I think we will be friends for quite a while.

One thing I've found is that the women I've 'met' online all seem to be stuck on it. I met a few in person but they seemed more willing to want to chat online instead of talking on the phone or meeting in person.

<shrug>

Blind dates setup by friends would be better 😉
 
I know someone who recently got married and he met his wife at some dating website (dunno which one). She is very pretty. Your friend needs a killer profile tho. My sis put a profile once and she was getting like 30 emails a day and she didn't even put a picture.

this is what his says so far:

"25 year old, self employed business, good looking, 5'10", 160lbs., funny, intelligent, nice. looking for friendship, maybe more."
