Do you guys believe in the supernatural?

A lot of you guys are probably atheists or agnostics so I am curious if you believe in anything paranormal.
 
No, by definition.


If something is "super"natural, that implies something beyond nature. But in that case, would that thing itself not be part of some larger nature as well? Just because you're stuck in a box, that doesn't mean the world outside the box is supernatural.
Or, if something is labeled "supernatural" simply because it is not understood, then you could apply "supernatural" to electricity, spacecraft, internal combustion engines, airplanes, and modern medicine. The sentence "I don't understand this" would be the proper thing to say, if anything, and not "This is supernatural!"

I also know that the human mind is capable of hallucinating/imagining things at the drop of a hat.
 
I do believe in ghosts and such. I have had a paranormal event happen in my life that I can't explain and so has my family. I used to be an avid watcher of Ghost Hunters. They have an all night long show on Halloween on the SyFy channel which is pretty cool.

Now that I said I believe in ghosts and have watched Ghost hunters I'm going to get a lot of shit! Ghost seem taboo around here. 🙄
 
There is probably intelligent life in this galaxy but I doubt we have ever been visited. I grew up watching shows on super natural stuff but have concluded that all of it is fake. Still watch a lot of that stuff to see all the loons, I find it rather entertaining.

Sort of. I think I saw a ghost once. It's not a priority to have another experience though. It was like a Lovecraft type of experience, I've never had anything rustle my jimmies like that.

might have quoted it from your response. anyways given how much we have advanced over several thusand years if that happened like 5000 years sooner womewhere else then they might already be here.

I for one do not. There are too many inconsistencies with things like ghosts, psychic abilities, and what-not.

My biggest gripe about ghosts is they're able to float around, but they still seem to be gravitationally bound to the Earth. They seem to walk through walls but walk on floors? Things like that.
 
I believe ghosts replace new products shipped from Amazon with used ones and them package them in "frustration free" packaging.
