Look, I have set up maybe a hundred of these things in a factory envirnoment, right up to conducting and functional test certification of the work station.
Now - if you're not working at the solder - desolder, install mictrochips, replace integrated circuit component level
you don't really need to work to that extreme of a safety level, all you have to do is touch the metal case - anywhere,
before you lift up, open, or install any circuit cards or memory sticks.
But if you insist, These are available at a decent price
The 18 X 26 and the 24 X 26 are decent sizes.
We always used 24 X 48's

You most likely touch the metal case before any component.
Agreed. I've never used any type of grounding device in my 10 years of building computers, and have never had a problem *knocks on wood*

Alluminum foil bracelet tied to your ankle with a wire that leads to the ground of an outlet will do just fine.
NEVER use a straight piece of wire. Always use a resistor in line. If you were to accidentally contact something at mains potential the chance of this mistake being fatal is very likely.
Of course if you're fascinated with death, I hear this is quite painless and clean unlike a 12 ga in the mouth.
've never worn one of those Grounding straps. ANd I've never had a problem. I also use magnetic screwdrivers and people seem to be worried about that too.
the grounding bracelet things have resistors?

For everyone who touches the case, remember that it doesn't do anything unless the computer is plugged in.
