Yep.. and the automated beast broke my antenna off.. they put a notice before you go in that they are not responsible for damages but the Texaco guy got one hell of a verbal beating from me regardless..

Used it only once.....but not satisfied with the end result (car still dirty).

I wash the car myself now.

No, the car always seems to be dirty afterwards, and it usually leaves water spots, which really gets on my nerves.

Luckily I married a woman who actually likes to wash the car by hand. :D

well, u are only allowed to do it at gas stations or washing places here, because the average home owner doesnt have an oilretainer or however u would call it
u know to sepearte the oil and gas and such from the water, cause oil is a very bad environmental hazard( i think 1 l oil can contaminate like a million l of fresh water)

dunno if it is really prohibited but u are not supposed to do it

I wash by hand, never by the auto washer becuase it doesn't wash very well and it scratches your car pretty bad...

When I'm at school, there's an awesome auto car wash that takes my debit card. $6.50 for the works. It does it as good as I can by hand, and it takes lots less time. I figure my time is worth more then $6.50 :D

exactly, the engine has oily parts outside too ( on older cars anyway) I just remember the insane amounts of money the cmmounes had to pay for decontaminating the earth in those russian and american army bases that were given back to germany after the unification

off course the little bit of oil from one car might not do much damage but the cumulative effect if everybody was doing it, would prolly turn up quite a big amount of oil and such

in the states it probably doesnt account for much but think that we have a population density that is at least ten times of yours and there is a higher percentage of cars too

as with everything it is all matter of the dose(is) i guess

never use the touch kind. After i got my car painted. It was either the mexi-car wash with manual labour scrubbing the car or the car wash touch-free for light dirt, or my own hands.

You'll get swirlies from hell from any car wash that touches your new paint.

if your paint job is old and you don't care, just use the touch kind, they work the best for a cheap car wash.

mr hand is the best still..

Hell no! Those things are harsh on your car. I wouldn't take mine through there any more!

I use the gun thing which takes my cold quarters, $3-$4 and 15 minutes I'm outta there. They also have 50 cent vacuum cleaners and oh baby can those suck ;)

Exactly.. it didn't retract and that was one long antenna but I had been through many auto car washes before that and the antenna was fine because it was a flexible one.. still it doesn't matter because I replaced the antenna with a nice power one :)
