Do you give out your cell phone number out a lot?

I give my land line number most of the time, at least if I'm at work I wont be getting calls for stuff. I give my cell to family and a few companies that I do want to be contacted anywhere such as my alarm monitoring company. When I do give my cell to friends or family I tell them to text rather than call unless it's an emergency.

But yes there is a way for people to track your cell, has to do with the way CCS7 works, I'm not 100% sure on how it's done or how easy it is to do, but it is possible. CCS7 is used for land lines which is fine because they don't move, but it ended up being adopted for cells too.

"I'm sorry, this is really embarrassing, but I can't remember my own cell number - I never call myself. If you need to get in touch with me, here's my wife's number; she can pass the message on to me."

Bamm! Phone calls are automatically screened.

Ehh, its on my signature line at work, not by choice ... but if my team members on call on the weekends get stuck they can track me down ...

I only give out my google voice number.

Pretty much this.

Wish Google would update the iOS app. It's very dated and buggy at times. I'm about to go back to having everything forwarded rather than texting from that app. (It's a PITA)

I haven't given out my real number in ages. Only do that when it's absolutely necessary that the person is able to get a hold of me. (Google voice isn't guaranteed)
