Nope, you're supposed to give a resume. The people who are too lazy to even have a resume have their application thrown in the garbage.

Wow, that's crazy that McDonalds requires a resume now.

Getting laid off is so unpredictable though, and if you work in the corporate world, never think you are safe. The last 2 jobs I had I wrongly assumed I was safe, but the layoff's still came, and I was out the door.

I feel a little safer now because I stopped applying to corporate employers and have been working in a civil service job that only lays off the most recently hired. Unfortunately that sometimes means people that are great employees get let go because of seniority, but at least now there are 2 that go before me.

Not unless I was stupid enough to be involved in whatever got them fired in the first place.

Now when a job is starting to wind down and the layoff's begin...then it may be time for concern...and time to get on the phone and find a new job. (ah for the old days when construction jobs were plentiful...)
