:thumbsup: and :beer: for try a standard. Saves on gas, and gives you more control of your car. The only time I wish I had an automatic is when I'm stuck in a stop/go crawl in the middle of a city which thankfully isn't very often.

I'm 21, I learned to drive on auto tranny cars, but have really only driven manual transmission cars since then. That is, except for my 84 X-Fire, which I can't afford the insurance on and must sell.

I firmly believe that as in the old days, people should be taught to drive and tested on a manual transmission, then go with an automatic if they want one when they buy a car. What if you're ever in a situation where you need to drive a stick? My very first time driving a stick, it was a 1987 Jeep Cherokee Chief. Just got in and drove. No stalling, grinding gears, burning the clutch, etc. I honestly don't see why it is so hard for some people.

(I'm not saying it's hard for you Twista, but some people couldn't do it if their life depended on it).

Since you are obviously too incompetent to operate your vehicle without causing multiple incidents, its probably time if you quit driving on public roads and go burn up your clutch in an empty parking lot.

Btw, clutches take a lot of abuse up to a certain point. If you smelled it, you are well on your way to destroying it. Congrats!

Fortunately RWD clutches are a lot easier to replace than MR or FWD.. 😛

When I am in my truck and some jackass stalls, I get right behind them and rev my engine. I have aftermarket pipes which makes this quite loud and distracting to the other car. Then they can not hear their own engine, and usually stall it as a few more times before taking off.

I did about 35 times in the parking lot starting from 1st and 2nd, but hitting the road makes its alittle shakey. If it was an automatic i would be crusing along lol, but oh well.. back for practice.

You'll get better. You'll eventually learn how to give it gas and let the clutch quickly out so you can launch without bogging or burning rubber. I got to learn on Porsches, so that was a plus 😀 (I used to work in the prep/detail dept at a VW/Audi/Porsche dealership).
