Nobody frequents the forums at 3dfiles.com? That's a great site too! I always get answers to my questions there (unlike this place).
 
Most of my other messaging is done on Usenet newsgroups - one or two Internet-related ones, a couple of general discussion groups that are internal to my ISP, and an active group of folks that share my interests in certain weekend activities.

None of them are "moderated" in the traditional sense, but all have plenty of members that are quite astute in tracking down (and if necessary, disposing of) cretins who troll or flame w/o cause. And we have fun.

I have my own little tiny free Bravenet message board where the best friends I've made on the net hang out.

You guys would HATE it! It's mostly people like me who hang out and give each other moral support. 😉
