Yes, SHE did.

Radar guns are +/- 5mph they are not exact. Well, I'm sure the are better now.

Were talking about the USA....

The "Flashing of the Lights" to me is a form of communication....

If I remember correctly.. we have the Right to communicate FREELY...

YES>> I let people know... .. WHY???

Because cops:
Ride ALONE in the HOV lane.
Turn without Signling
SPEED ( Pass me and I was doing 80) without Lights or Siren
RIDE MY BUMPER / Tailgate
Sit with the Car running eating up MY tax dollars.

I posted this same thread over on VW Vortex last week. In response to flashing lights being illegal. Here are two responses from two different members:

I did in my first year of driving, but not anymore (after 17 yrs of driving)
One night when I was 16, I tried flashing my lights at a pack of cars to alert them. Unfortunately, there was another cop at the back of that pack that pulled a quick U-turn and stopped me.

I stuttered some lame excuse and he slapped a $56 ticket on me for "driving without proper headlights".

In hindsight, I should've used the excuse that the car at the front of the pack didn't have his headlights on, but ... 20/20 hindsight, right

Now, I don't bother. Most of the drivers around here won't even know why I'm flashing.

About a year ago I was driving down a road near my house (924) and I saw a bunch of staties sitting on the side. So I flashed my highs at oncoming traffic and one of the troopers pulled out and pulled me over. Wrote me a ticket for driving with ?inproper headlights?.

I no longer warn anyone.

I have never heard of this, so no I would not do it. I guess that I'm just from a rural area that doesn't have speed traps.

No not any more but I always turned them off and on 3 times.

Speeders especially young ones need a ticket or two just to slow down.

Totally agree. I was with my sister at a traffic court. She was doing 42 in a 35 zone which I don't really blame her since the cops was waiting downhill, who really steps on the break when going downhill with no one in front of them anyways. However, one young kid came with a lawyer and when I heard the cop's statement, I was shocked. The kid was doing 90 in a 35 zone. He could be anywhere from 16-20. He admits he was at fault and his excuse was "He just put in a new motor and was testing it out."

Everyone speeds a little but that's a whole differnt story.
