I think the biggest thing for me is to just get to learn about people and what they are like. People can show a side of themselves here that they may conceal in real life.

Of course, there are also all the BS posts here that I have to wade throught to get to the good stuff.

The best thing I ever learned here was back in 2001 when ICQ first put ads into their software. It was making my computer freeze everytime I tried to load a message window. From the software forum here I first learned how to go into my registry and remove items that were screwing stuff up.

I don't even use ICQ anymore.

i don't express everything I think. Neither here nor in real life. Whatever I say here I would have no problems discussing in real life. But you know what? You don't learn from doing nothing. And if I see a girl who i do not find particularly attractive to me, I won't say that straight to her face. Same as here.

i don't express everything I think. Neither here nor in real life. Whatever I say here I would have no problems discussing in real life. But you know what? You don't learn from doing nothing. Alright, maybe it was a bad example - but it's easier for people to belittle others because they're not talking face to face. It's also easier to be inconsiderate (re: the thread about the teenager who accidentally killed her mom while parallel parking?) online, since there are no repercussions.
