Edit: Poll needs an option for "race makes little or no difference"

Ok, lets say their were two people, each with perfect bodies, and each with facial charectoristics consistent with their race and yet perfect. Would YOU, PERSONALY rather that have the mixxed race one or the signle race one?

I'd have to see the people in question before making that call, because theres no "consistant" appearence in people of mixed race.

If your asking about two otherwise identical in appearence people, I'd go for the mixed race.

How attractive they look really depends on the parents. If Al Roker and Rosie O'Donnell had a child, what do you think it would look like?

Let's assume that we are talking about perfect people.

It depends on what you like. Perfect for you is not perfect for someone else.
One advantage of interracial children is recessive genes are less likely to be expressed. Same arguement as not having sex with your sister, but taken to the opposite extreme.
Plus the children will be more unique looking compared to single race population. There is some mystique to that.

Mixed-race. But only because they have a more diverse gene-pool to select beneficial (read attractive) traits from. It's entirely possible to be mixed-race and get all the worst traits from your parents... but when mixed-race people hit the jackpot, they hit it bigger than non-mixed do IMHO.

Preference for people of mixed race could be a behavior that has evolved. People of mixed race have more genetic diversity and are genetically better off because of heterosis. Think about it this way, odor drives us away from people we are related to. Asymmetry of facial features drives us away from those that are inbred. It is not illogical to think that the more unrelated/diverse the individual, the more attraction.

My whole preference for mixed race is based off of that one South Park episode where a mixed race person visited from the future. I was not impressed.

Seriously though, if you think about mixed race, parts of Europe have been a mixing ground for different racial groups for millennia, such as France, Spain, Italy, even parts of Germany. And those countries have some stunning people. Mixed is good IMHO

There are attractive and unattractive people in any race or combination thereof. I just take it on a case-by-case basis.

What beneficial traits do you refer to, and why would certain races lack them? Please explain.

What if you liked the traits of one race but disliked that of another? Then intermixing with that race would introduce traits that you find undesirable.

It goes both ways.

I suppose I over complicate the issue here due to my (limited) study of Anthropology. From a genetic standpoint, mixed-race offspring are likely to be resistant more pathogens than non-mixed offspring are.

As far as liking or disliking traits. It's not about what you specifically like or dislike, it's that a person of mixed-race potentially has a set of traits that are more universally appealing compared to non-mixed, which makes their overall likelihood of reproduction much higher. And that's really what attractiveness is all about... making people horny so they do the nasty and pop out kids. Hurray!

I'm caucasion / asian... CaucASIAN. :)

I think a mixed people are attractive if they look like one side with a slight trace from the other side.
Ex: white/asian people who look completely white but with subtle asian features, and vice versa.

also, some genetic recessive disorders tend to be carried by certain ethnic groups, caucasian, asian, african. And when you mix/match, it's much harder for those genes to be expressed

This is an insanely stupid question and you misspelled attractive.

There are beautiful and ugly people in every race. Same goes for mixed races.

Oh, and repost.
