Do you find it humorous when a stutterer speaks?

I don't find it painful or embarrassing but it's an exercise in patience for me not to finish their sentences for them. It seems rude to do that.

OK if you didn't get it, this was meant as a joke. I have friends that stutter. Some which took speech therapy. And yes it is humorous in certain situations.

No, if they're a friend that just can't speak correctly at that point in time because of jumbled words, i'll j-j-join i-i-n with t-t-he s-t-t-utering.

When a stutterer speaks, the only thing I feel unrelated to what he or she is trying to say is concern for the individual, and perhaps a desire to help work with them on it. It can be overcome but it takes a good deal of work and focus, and even still it can be a problem during times of stress.


Just remember that James Earl Jones was a stutterer!

I've never actually met someone who stuttered continually, but I have a tendency to stutter every so often. usually when there are several consonants that sound alike in a row and I'm trying to talk fast.

In my younger day's I stuttered from time to time.

It's a uncomfortable malady to say the least.

And someone laughing at you while you try and get your words organized and OUT there is cruel to say the least.

If it's a friend, that?s one thing, but to do that to a stranger is...........not nice!

To make fun of anyone for any thing they have no control over is just plain rude.

"Hey nice zit's, zit face!!"

"Fatty Fatty fat fat"

Etc.

Sometimes. Usually its just embarrasing, for both the person stuttering and the people listening.

By the way, what exactly makes someone stutter?
