I personally feel that I should be making just as much if not more than she is. Any less would make me feel like she has more leverage.

Well, if a little money is all it takes, then he's got bigger problems than his paycheck.

I would be absolutely fine with making less. As long as the total coming in was enough to meet our needs

 My hubby's doing what he wants to do, and doesn't care about the money, as long as the bills get paid.

So if he's at home watching Sports Center all day while you are at work, you're cool with that?

I dont mind it if my S.O. is making more than me
That just means that we dont have to spend all my
money all the time. And when she offers to pay for
the bill, it gives me a sense of power.

Funny you should ask that...he's a farmer, so he works his ass off from April thru November, then doesn't do much from December thru March. I work at home, so while I'm tied to my desk, he's taking a nap and watching Stargate in the other room. He earns it.

I am in full, uncondition support of my wife making more than I do. I spent many years living out of suitcases to make the bacon. Took a big paycut to not have to work away, coincidentally she found a new job 5 minutes from home that pays very well, all is much happier now.

at the rate her company has been giving her raises, she'll prob surpass me next year. I only feel it's unfair because the financial sector (even though she's in IT) makes ridiculous profits and can afford it... I'm just jealous.

God ... I wish my wife made more than I do. Would give me more career flexibility. I don't have any ego issues associated with it, but at the moment, she has a very rewarding job (librarian) but it doesn't even constitute half of what I'm making currently.

However, I'm planning to re-make the career a bit, and the money coming in will drop ... so long as it meets our needs (and a few wants :p), we'll both be happy.

Nope, I'm single and feel I'm making enough to support myself at the moment.

If I happen to meet someone and she was making more, I would feel a bit insecure. Money can be a sensitive issue between some people/couples.

It's the same thing. You'd feel insecure because you are a typical socially conditioned sheep.

Not when you balance it against enjoying what you do all day, every day. The problems usually come from how you spend it.
