well.... i haven't used AIM since May... since i felt like it was a distraction to my studying....
i have a laptop now.... i carry it with me to class... and when i have some free time... i usually go in the library to use the wireless network... and do research... write papers.. look at online notes... I've lost contact with everyone from last year.. basically since i haven't used aim in a long time. I dunno if i should start using it again... and have my SN sign on whenever i turn on my laptop.

what do you think?
 
hehe if you think aim is a bad time waster, trillian would be the death of you. it willbe for me at any rate 🙁
 
I think I've ignored enough people for everyone on my buddy list (about 160 people) to realize that I only like to use AIM for useful information... like post-its..

ex: "meet me at 5pm for soccer" or something like that

I can't stand it when people think we should have a 2-hour conversation over AIM when a phone call is much more efficient. Hence, why my ex-girlfriend and her army of 20 screen names is all blocked.
 
duh. that's the reason i usually don't run instant messengers. having people messenging you all the time can be both time and energy consuming. at least with these forums you have a choice of when to visit
 
I dunno. I am usually on AIM 24/7. However, 80% of that time or more is spent away from my computer. When I'm writing papers, I put on an away message. I turn off all the sounds, so I only know if I get a new message by checking the away message window. I find that takes care of any distraction AIM provides when I'm trying to work.

I use Trillian during the day at work sometimes.
