Do you feed human food to your dog?

I do. My dogs love people food. Especially pizza. My dogs are quite healthy, have excellent coats...
If we have hamburgers for dinner, we'll give each of the dogs a hamburger, complete with bun.
Can someone explain how that's worse than feeding them dogfood which is mostly grain with some meat added in, and some chemicals to make it more appealing to the dogs? (the meat coming from meat unfit for human consumption - good enough for dogs, but still...)

All our dogs live outside. Occasionally they will get leftovers, but other than that, no.

I hope no onions were on that hamburder you fed your dog ;)

Pieces of raw onion, cooked onion or even onion powder can cause damage to red blood cells, which could result in anemia in dogs.

No onions or chocolate for the dogs.. also, no cooked bones.... cooked bones splinter. Raw bones are generally okay. Even raw chicken bones. (but definitely not cooked chicken bones!)

Dogs have basically evolved with people. I think they can quite easily share the same foods.

Not often.
I have Italian Greyhounds. They're very slight animals, only weigh around 13pounds. If they pack on too much weight, it can cause problems.

Yes, I have to spike Fred's food with some people food. Usually no more than a slice of bologna or Spam along with some canned dog food, water and dry dog food.

You probably do not want to inhibit a cat's ability to eat meat (i.e., feed it some stuff that makes it full and doenst want to eat meat).

Cats are pure carnivores. They need some amino acids that are available solely from meat proteins or they will die.

(Cats cannot synthesize taurine or arginine)

My dog used to eat anything, including cheese and lettuce as 2 examples. Then his teeth started rotting so we stopped.

I don't give my dog any people food because I can't stand begging. You give it to them once or twice and they come to expect it.

The vets say don't give them chocolate, it's poison. I've had more dogs than most people (used to raise bird dogs) and I've never lost one at a young age to anything other than injuries.
I currently have 5 dogs, all family pets, 1 is 12, 3 are 11, and 1 is almost 8.
They all eat leftovers, chocolate, cat food, etc. Pretty much anything. All are healthy and have no problems.

Maybe the human food would bother some little biscuit-eater like a chihuahua, but big dogs seem to do just fine.

Greasy and fatty food is worse for dogs than it is humans. MUCH MUCH WORSE. A dog's stomach isn't used to the punishment that many humans give their stomachs and they don't properly digest fatty portions of foods...

Don't give dogs hamburgers, onions (or any item with traces of onions, like onion powder) chocolate, milk, gum, grapes, raisins and many other things. People have no clue what they are doing to their dogs sometimes.

Just like we can't eat certain things without being sick, they can't either. Stick to foods designed for pets, but if you insist of giving them table scraps, try to keep it to the breads.
