I admit I do, I can mentally picture being old and close to death and imagining how scary it must be. have you ever been at someone's side when they died?

yes I do and I really am not that great at saying the right things when someone close to a friend dies.

i have never had anyone close to me really die and I'm really scared of how it will feel and how I will react when it eventually does.

I imagine old people have lived long enough to accept their own mortality. I, at age 26, do fear death, though I would gladly put myself before my wife or child.

Death/ being dead, no.

The whole dying part is what I am not looking forward too. If I go in my sleep that would be ok with me.

I am religious though so some people might say I have a bizarre view of death.

Not really. I've personally seen multiple friends and their parents die and really did not feel grief, just felt sad I wouldn't see them again.

I really don't think death is that bad. I heard a great quote once regarding this topic.

?Life is like a B Rated Movie, you don't want to leave in the middle of it, but you don't want to see it again."

I'm like AUMM, I don't really fear death at all. I really hope that I grow old wtih my wife, but sometimes I start thinking and hope that I die before my wife does because I'm not sure if I could handle her dying. Especially if we get up around 70, our kids will be gone, it will just be us two and my computer. :(

So many death threads...

No I don't fear death. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

:)

No, I do not. I am prepared to go at any time, but I do not welcome it.

exactly.

I'm not the most healthy person around anymore. I know the odds of me dieing before my wife are high. the only thing that scares me is what it would do to my family.

When I was 13 I began questioning my faith and my belief in god that I was told when growing up existed. I started to wonder if there was really a god at all, then I began to realize that there might be nothing after death. That FREAKED me out and for a long while I was scared out of my wits. After a few months of constant fear, I began to accept the fact and learned to grow with it. Does the aspect of death scare me? A bit, but it's mostly the process of dieing that gives me the creeps.

Do I think about it? Yep. Does it affect my daily life? Nope.

But I don't get why everyone seems to think if you die you are in Heaven or hell, I thought the Bible says that the dead will rise to be judge don Judgement day, if so wouldn't that mean no one is in heaven or hell?

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying, there's no reason for it you've got to go some time

I fear illness in ld age, with no social safety net.
And the abject poverty that illness can leave one who is childless.
That's why I'm saving one bullet.
