I'm going to check out this "MMA" thing people keep mentioning. I 'ave a vague idea of what it is, but I guess I should watch it carefully to determine whether is worth watching.

wow, instead of letting a normal thread do its thing, you had to douche it up. Now I must request that you die slowly in a fire.

Why do you care?

Do I care? No. Do I find it annoying enough to type a quick sentence about it? Yes. Why do you care why I care?

Because you asked first.

Wow, that was productive. I seriously doubt anyone on here is "freaking out" over anything thats said in any thread, especially not me. I assure you I'm just killing time at work.

I grew up watching boxing because my Mom has always been a huge fan, so she always had it on. I still like it now and then when they actually have decent guys on, but the sport is certainly nowhere near where it used to be and the heavyweight division is a joke.

I used to watch MMA back when Royce Gracie was doing his thing the first time around, however many years ago that was, but I don't like how it is now and haven't really watched it in years.

Just curious, what are your complaints about present MMA?

Rounds and matches are too short, there is no time for people to develop a strategy and feel people out. You don't see a lot of the back-and-forth like you used to, though to be honest I have only seen a small handful of matches in recent years and just in passing, so I do not have a huge frame of reference.

No interest at all in any of the fighting sports, or any sports for that matter.

How bad is it? I don't know what this "MMA" is that is referenced repeatedly in this thread. Google, enlighten me.

I am ashamed to admitt it but I do enjoy watching a good boxing match . You know what I hated about the great one. He wouldn't go to nam because of the his religious belief. So what the hell was he doing in a boxing ring. Were he could easly take a life. Just did not jive with me. Now if he would have said screw you . Those people are no threat to us. Put me in jail because I am not going into military. I would have bowed at his feet. But God seems to have handle this in his own way . Nice move Lord. He was better than that draft dodging Billy clinton . The coward ran away. I can't wait to see his reward. Well I guess he married it. LOL.

Depends. Most of the time it's just big names going up against boxers who careers ended all ready, or when the matched is fixed from the start. On top of that, it seems like more and more hard puncher boxes are pitted up against elusive sissy boxers who just dance around the ring. Promoters have corrupted the sport.

I might watch Calzaghe and Roy Jones, but Roy Jones is passed his prime and likely be a 12 round decision without one drop of blood.

I don't understand fighting period. I don't get the appeal of watching two guys beat the hell out of each other.
