I almost always use a chopstick. I notice a lot of other asian people use a spoon to eat fried rice. Most people in my family also use a chopstick to eat fried rice.

If I am eating my meal with chopsticks, I eat everything with chopsticks (except the soup - I pick the contents with chopsticks then drink the broth).

If I am eating my meal with a fork, then I eat everything with a fork (except soup - I eat the entire soup with a spoon).

I would not use chopsticks for part of the meal, then a fork specifically for the rice.

The recent rice threads got me in the mood for fried rice. I made a simple Spam fried rice. Spam, onion, egg, rice, soy sauce, and hot sauce. Damned tasty. I'm using a spoon to eat it :^D

I love it when white ppl use chopsticks. I'm asian but I prefer anything but chopsticks. Only use chopsticks when it's the only choice I got.

I take it you are born in the USA with parents also born here.

My wife is Japanese, 10 years in the US now and 30 years in Japan. She mostly uses chopsticks. I do now too. A lot of foods it's really more convenient IMHO.
