Do you drive stick or auto?

Don't currently have a stick but I learned to drive on one and had manual transmission cars for 10 years straight. My bike has a clutch though and I could still drive any manual transmission car with no problem.

My Civic is automatic four speed. The stick purist will disagree but they are vastly superior in heavy traffic on a daily driver. Still, I would love to learn how to drive a manual car. I've only driven a manual dirt bike but not enough to really get the hang of it. Low speed driving is the tricky part.

Learned to drive and drove stick for about 10 years, but currently drive an automatic. Not practical for the stop and go traffic around here.

Stick on both of my cars (2006 330i and 2002 M3). I have only ever owned one car with an automatic, a 1998 V-6 Accord, and I really disliked it. I could imagine myself driving a DCG car if a manual were unavailable (which will be true fairly soon, I suspect).

I prefer auto.
3 of our vehicles are auto. Motorcycle is manual.
At work I drive autos, 8 speeds, 10 speeds, 13 speeds, 15 speeds, 5+2 and hydrostatic.

5 speed auto in my Civic, which gets better mileage than the stick, believe it or not. I've had sticks and they're fun too, but not in Seattle traffic because nobody knows how to hold a speed... 😡

So you're saying an auto trans is superior for driving in traffic, but you don't know how to drive a manual trans?

5M for me.

Between my wife and I we have 2 MTs and one AT. Ironically the AT is our least used vehicle. When met her she was driving an MT Sentra. Had to be a good sign right?

two auto... two standards.

the cars I buy for "me" will likely always be standard trans. unless I decide to buy something like a GTR or 458, in which case an auto will have to do
