There is another thread about old timers here but do you considered yourself an old AGNer ??

Man I miss that place a whole lot. That place was it for me.
Everytime I turn on the computer, my home page was AGN.
I get all my news and reviews there.

I remembered when it used to be voodoo..... something.
Then Jeremy Alford had a fall-out with some of his colleagues and decided to start AGN.
I was there from the beginning.

If you considered yourself a TRADER, then you should know AGN started the whole internet trading thing.
I remembered VidmanII being the supreme KING there. Blade was there too.
I watched that place for a while before ever making a trade there.
And how Puto tried to rip-off Joshua(the boss at AGN).
Oh and Heatware that all you traders can't live without....that was started at AGN.

That palce was more than just trading.
We had a trading hub on ICQ that let just chat with each others while we refresh the board 100 times per hr.
Two people that I talk on a regular basis was EMO and Blade.

Whats your fondest memories there ??

Mine was me refreshing the For Sale Board every 5 secs to snatch that next great deal.

Hey, Mr Perknose, I have fond memories of you trying to meet up SunnyD(something close to that) somewhere in NY cause he was talking so much smack on the board. Of course he chickened out. That was just hilarious.

Lots of good memories from there, i wouldn't know were to start. I miss bighammer acually....havn't spoken with him in a good while. I met him at lostcircuits before anandtech was doin anything.

 
i had an account there about the same time i got on anands forums. i guess i just stayed over here, since anands basically started hot deals sites, and i was initially lured here by that. not to mention the servers here were a lot faster than agn
 
It was VoodooExtreme right? That fs/ft board was singlehandedly responsible for about a 40% surge in business at my local post office, that place was fantastic.
 
I first started trading on AGN many moons ago. Actually, my first trade was at sysopt.com, but my heatware started at AGN.
 
Yep AGN, the Place that started all as far as online trading goes. I also remember when Vidman was the King of Traders way back then. I made some of my Closest Interent Friends from there. When you trade or exchange money with individuals on a regular basis you get to know them personally, unlike here. People like golfreak, CAK, Vidman, nexus7, Hammer, Blade, Snelski, ChootoED, Nitro, UnderClocker, Nutster, GCS, just to name a few. When AGN broke up it was not being part of that group anymore that hurt the most. Sure most frequent the For Sale Forum here and over a PCA but it's not the same.

Probably my most memerable moment was when a VERY drunk VidmanII signed on and posted, and emailed a "candid" picture to Red 😛

Much of what I know about hardware and trading I picked up over there, a great bunch of people! I felt honored to be counted as a member there !

Yeah I recall the very drunken Vidman and puto and I also fondly remember actually snagging a coupla decent deals before golf did. 😉 I miss many of my old timers from there (even though you see them about from time to time it still isn't the same as talking to them every day). But I still see many of them over at PCA and I enjoy a cameraderie with the old timers there and have met many new friends as well.

PS Paulson you weren't hated, pitied is more like it. 😉 jk/ing

I hear ya. tha was the tightest LARGE community there was. not many of them phonies or anything. saddly missed.

as far as fondest memory....Just the constant refresh battles. 😉 wish I had Cable back then!

Having a dual monitor setup really came in handy🙂
 
I was a member of the old AGN BBS before it was AGN3D, and I remember little old Hoy/Nick Caputo I remember it like it was yesterday...

Insert Wavey Flashback Here....

I used to visit Voodoo2.com and its BBS and there was this annoying troll by the name of Hoy who would post stupid comment after stupid comment... I got tired of it, so I started posting pictures to rag on him...

Man I miss that place. No forum can even compare. Man the memories. Remember when winwinwin was in business. He shipped Kru a doa hard drive wrapped in gym shorts. Speaking of Kru, great trader by the way, also called up John M 2:30am about the video card he got that was bad. That place was the best without a doubt. I take nothing away from some others but it was the cream of the crop. 🙂

somebody sent you an HD with a pair of gym shorts tucked around it ??? ROTFLMAO !!! I've gotten some strange things in trade boxes but nothing that can beat that 😀
 
Yep and the Drive was dead. The guy who sent it to me obviously didn't have a clue but he refunded me my money immediately and learned the ropes real quick. I never gave out his name and have since forgotten who it was.
