Libertarian.

Less taxes, government, laws, etc = good.

The statement that libertarians = socially liberal isn't exactly true. While supporting gay rights' and criticizing the patriot act are true of libertarians, we also oppose many liberal social policies (reparations, smoking bans, etc). We also oppose any sort of government regulation against private discrimination (housing, employment, etc). Yes, this means that libertarians have no problem with a business saying they will only hire white males.

I'm not religious
I'm pro-gun ownership (it's your choice if you want to own one)
I'm all for legalizing drugs (if you want to smoke up, go ahead.)
I'm for the rights of gays to be able to get married
I'm against welfare, affirmative action, reparations, and other hand outs
I'm against cameras being mounted everywhere "for your protection"

Basically I'm all for an individual's personal freedom. I don't want to take away your right to own guns like liberals do, and I'm not against gay marriage like conservatives are. I think some drugs should be legalized, unlike what conservatives want.

I think people should be able to live freely without others imposing their will on them.
If they are not bothering others, they should be able to live peacefully as they please.

imagine a conservative... and then multiply that by 20.

So supporting gay rights, right to abortion, and smaller government is conservative x 20?

Libertarian with conservative leanings. In otherwords, you can do whatever you want with your body and your money, but cause damage to other people's lives and expect to be treated worse than a Jew in Nazi Germany.

EDIT: Since people are being a bit more descriptive, I support...

Lower taxes
Less spending overall
No welfare
No public schools
No army, navy, or air force
A strong nuclear missile system
Death penalty and/or torture for virtually everything that harms people
Closing down the borders with Mexico
Legalizing drugs
Legalizing suicide
Legalizing human cloning
Legalizing all weapons so long as they can be used without destroying other people's property
Taking marriage out of the government and leaving it up to the Church

the conservatives are against gay rights and abortion because they grabbed the christian base. take the religion out of it and you'd see that a conservative is almost nothing more than a watered-down libertarian.

And the liberals have abandoned their "liberal" beliefs. They used to support more individual rights, but now they've really clamped down and supported things like the banning of firearms, support of reparations, increased welfare at the expense of those who work for a living, etc.

The republicans really lost me with the whole Christian thing. I cannot support that. But the liberals really lost me once they abandoned their focus on individual rights and began their push for government interference in just about everything. In other words, a nanny/welfare state.

when you become a major party, you grab as many groups as you can in order to keep power. i'm not saying it's right... i'm just saying that's what it is.

My life is liberal, my views are conservative. Basically, I want everyone to live like a Republican but I want to be able to operate how I want to. Kinda fascist, huh? :D

Careful how you use the word. Libertarian is a very broad category and encompass those on the left and the right. I'd define a Libertarian more as someone who votes with his mind on each topic and not with any "Party Line". That simply means that you hold a mix of views, differing depending on the topic at hand. I know that's not the official definition but so many people on the left and right call themselves Libertarian that it's the definition that seems to make the most sense to me.
