Do you consider having a sexual dream involving someone other than your S/O cheating?

Philisophical/Moral question of the day. :)

I'm sort of torn, because I tend to have more control over my dreams than most people I know. I can't say for certain what started the dream, but I do know that if I had wanted to, I could have stopped it...but didn't.

Your thoughts?

"...too busy doing it to dream"

I'm inclined to agree with Minendo. Dude, if you're dreaming about it, you're not getting it enough and that is definitely the fault of your S/O! Find another lover!

lol, I hope you weren't looking for serious answers

If I had conscious control over my dreams and I let it happen, I would be upset with myself and would work to change whatever it is that seems to be making me unhappy in my relationship so that it doesn't happen again. But, since I don't have conscious control over what I dream, I would feel really really bad about it when I woke up and would probably work my ass off that day to be a better significant other, trying to make up for the guilty conscience.

But, really, since I don't have control, I don't consider it cheating.

I can assure you, that isn't an issue :)

Also - this wasn't any sort of an argument between me and my s/o. It was spurred on by an AIM conversation with a friend about having sex dreams with your buddy's wife/gf. Should the guy who's wife/gf was in the dream have any reason to be jealous. Then the cheating question came up.

And hope you don't cry out "Oh yes, Mrs Bush!! I've been a naughty student and need a good spanking!! No child left behind!! in your sleep.

That would be bad.

Words of wisdom...

What if she asks? If your significant other asked you if you ever dream about other people, would you hide it from her or tell her the truth?

Tell her the truth... but only if asked directly.

I'd tell her.

how can you control your dreams?

seems to me if you have no control of what you think/dream about while unconsious, then it shouldn't count against you

Lucid dreaming... pretty neat stuff.

It's happened to me a few times before. It'd be sweet if it would happen more often, though...

Why would I care if she found out?

I wouldn't go announcing it (common courtesy & sense), but it's not a big deal.

Rev. Lovejoy: [suspicious] Oh, really...
Homer: Yeah. He appeared before me in a dream, and I knew that was special because I usually dream about naked....... Marge

It's not cheating so relax. Do you consider everytime you talk to another woman cheating as well?
