those PureVision lenses are FDA approved to last 7 days and 6 nights. >>
FDA "approved"?! HAhahaHAHAHahahah MUAhahahahah LOL
Um, sorry as I wipe the tears from my eyes and replace my contacts . . .
The LAST time the FDA "approved" extended wear contact lenses, several people went blind and many suffered eye damage and infections.
I just said NOT IDEAL. If you talk to your eye doctor, he will tell you NO lens allows the oxygen to permeate the lens 100% . . . it is NOT IDEAL to sleep in contact lenses. When they are absolutely brand new, they allow quite a bit of oxygen to the lens surface. As they stay in your eyes they act as a sponge and soak up the minerals, dust and other crap from your eyes and become less and less permeable to oxygen the longer they stay in.
If you religiously remove them after 7 days and toss them you SHOULD be ok. However, many studies have shown that people who sleep in extended wear contact lenses are more prone to infections. Most people seem to be although sensitive people cannot tolerate sleeping in any lens.
Hey, it's your eyes. But find out all you can before you trust "FDA approved". They "approved" thalidomide for pregnant women.
