Do you claim any financial benefits from the government?

If so what? And I'm talking about things that you actually claim not things that everyone gets. Examples would be unemployment benefit, disability living allowance and similar things.

If you do claim, how do you feel about it? Do you think of yourself as "sponging" as some would put it, do you think it's your right? etc etc.

I do, and I have mixed feelings about it, so I'm interested to know what others think.

Wernt you claiming a mental disability which prevented you from work? I seem to remember you claiming you caused drama in the workplace due to your erratic behavior, were subsequently fired for causing a hostile work environment then milked the system. All because you couldnt get along with others.

That was you right?

Some of that relates to me, but most of it doesn't.

Ah, I should have guessed.

Not at the moment but I have been on unemployment benefits before.

Why would I feel guilty about it? I have UI taken out of my pay for all the years I've been working so I'm entitled to use the benefits when I've been out of work.

How about contributing your own benefits and thoughts on them before asking others to do the same

I have mixed feelings... Pretty sure I mentioned that.

I claim disability living allowance and I feel guilty about it, other people pay their taxes, and I claim some of the money, I know I need it, I know that I wouldn't be able to live the same life as my non-bipolar friends without it, but I still feel a twinge of guilt, I never say that "I am entitled to it" I always say "I am eligible" because "entitled" seems too... Pious.

I got lots of scholarships, grants, and cheap student loans. I'm glad the government paid for my education so I could get better jobs and make more money later. 🙂

Haven't taken unemployment yet, even though I was entitled eligible for awhile.
