Do you bite your nails?

I have been biting my nails to keep them trimmed my whole life, and I never overdo it so that I either bleed or have pain......anymore. Practice makes perfect. In fact I am looking at my nails right now and they look perfect. Happy chewing

I used to, till about middle school when someone told me that you could get worms from biting your nails because the dirt under your finger nails could have worm eggs.

True or not, I immediatly stopped biting my nails and haven't since, seeing as how I have an unexplained fear of getting worms.

i don't. when i see someone else biting their nails it makes me think they aren't so bright.
the amount of bacteria under fingernails is disgusting. not to mention worm eggs can be present. eat it up, yum.

nope, me neither. I like having my nails trimmed nice and besides, gnawing on nails makes you look as bad as picking your nose to some people and I am one of those people, lol.

I am a recovering nail biter going on about a month. I quit atleast a couple times a year but always fall off the wagon. I think my nails are made of heroin.

BTW all the bacteria and crap under my nails that I have been eating for 30 years has made my immune system super human so that I never get sick .

I did up until six years ago. For whatever reason I decided that to stop biting my nails and did. When cold turkey man.

I think the reason was that biting you nails can mess up your teeth.

I used to do it all the time also. Then one day I took a look at my nails and saw how ragged they were. It took a while to ween myself off of them. Call me disgusting, but I used to cut off the nail with clippers, and then chew on it. I guess it was my way of getting me to stop. It finally worked and I don't bite them anymore.

What I think is really disgusting is when people pull of the nail (fingernail or toenail) from the side. I cringe everytime I see someone do it. Their nails end up really short.

Unlike what the anti-bacterial soap people would like you to believe, being in contact with bacteria is hardly a horrible thing.
I was actually reading a study that said people who picked their nose and ate their boggers were much more likely to have a very strong immune system as the bacteria in the mucus would stimulate the immune system, making it stronger.

..no but I do have to trim them a lot. At least once a week. And toe naiils too. Bust out a lot of sox cause of sharp toe nails.
