Oh I see the true colors, you are one of those who are upset with my stand that being gay is a choice. Awww man, is everybody so sensitive here. God.......sigh :) Ok I'll go away now, so you can display this love of Jesus you was talking about. Something tells me anyway I don't want to be around that love.......

the irony meter just jumped off the scale. ;)

But we asked God to allow these men to show her favor and be merciful. This person walked away with a few months of county jail time. There is nothing you can tell me. Nothing. Do you understand? Jesus can do anything and I don't care what you may call my boasting of God is. I love him and you know what smarty pants he loves me too. I'll say it here, I'll say it anywhere, God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are just great. And even when I slip they are there to help me. No one will never be able keep me from talking great things about Jesus.

I think you could only get p.o.'d at something like that if you're insecure in your own beliefs. I don't agree with it, so what? You're entitled to your opinion no matter how wrong it is! (Joke!)

Seriously, my faith is important to me, but it isn't my job to police the planet and rid it of all unbelief. I think God is big enough to take care of Himself. I gladly share my faith if the situation is right but I certainly can't expect everyone to slap the side of their head and say "Holy s**t! What a fool I've been!"

(THe above quotation is not meant to imply foolishness on anyones part. ;)

This thread got weird, though I suspect Classy has been leading some on a wild goose chase!

No. I'm agnostic.

I believe in Karma though. Doing bad things will come back to bite you in the a$$.

I don't do bad things because I don't want to do bad things. I don't need an incentive to do good.

Yes, and riporing or whatever on the first page got it right, except I'm a Southern Baptist. But whatever, we obviously have the same God, so go you brother. You know, people who hate us and really want to flame can go start their own thread so we don't have to read your stuff.

Oh, and two other things that do actually have to do with the thread. Its hard to say Jesus was a great man yet isn't God, because, like 50 billion times, he claimed to be. If I claimed to be God right now, born of a virgin, and the only way of salvation, you wouldn't say I was good. You really have to take Jesus or leave him. If you think otherwise then you haven't read His book. In fact, go do that. The whole way through, all 5 gospels at least. Then say he can be good but not God. The other thing is that most of us aren't militant at all. If there are some who think they should force Christianity on you, then you probably only know about them because they are loud and post alot or whatever. But then, you can't blame us for at least making an attempt to tell the good news. If you knew that everybody on the face of the earth would die at some point in their lives, but there was a way that they could live forever is paradise, then you would "at least make an attempt" to tell somebody. That's the way we feel, and don't bash us for it.

Your loss. Some are fantastic! and if you read the original versions that aren't rewritten to be G rated for our children, they make Stephen King look like Dr. Seuss ;)

Because history is a fairy tale, right?

History is more than just the study of past occurrences, but the study of the cultures of the past as well. In this regard, as religion is a key part of every single culture that has ever been on earth, the study of religion is indispensible.

As it is, these 2 have their own religion, though they don't recognize it. In ancient times, it was called Earth Mother worship. Also, I am willing to bet large that they believe in astrology.

Nope.

I used to be an overzealous Bible-thumping "IF YOU SINNERS DON'T TURN TO JESUS YOU'RE GOING TO HELL" Christian, but thankfully I matured past that.

If you wish to believe in it no problem, whatever. but being raised with family that taught us to learn for yourself, I wonder why american familys accept children ending their belief in santa claus when they are old enough for critical perspective but still tell there kids there is a godfairy in the sky.
Fear of dying I assume, whatever floats your boat. Sounds like old cultural fairytales but it's a big world.
It's pretty sad how hate filled and bakward ths country is though and the "average" americans i am writing from a train trip across the us right now and I can't believe how angry and intolerant middle america is now that we are in red states. total hate to me and my family since we look diffrent, major harrassment too.
This country is not the same country i used to travel across years ago.
Scary anger toward fellow americans by these conservative relgious types.
We have been accosted by jesus freaks a few times over the past day or so.

LOL. So you DO believe in astrology. You might want to reconsider your hypocracy. ;) There is very little difference in believing in a god and believing that your fate has been pre-determined by the alignment of the stars.

And moving on, only a mental moron believes that believing in God is equivalent to believing in Santa Claus, or that people only have such faith because of the fear of death. I pity your shallowness and lack of spirituality, although I am well aware that that is by no means unusual here. It's not that I actually care about what you believe in, just your ignorant attitude in insulting the beliefs of others.

If you're curious as to my own personal beliefs (and before you make some wild and inaccurate assumption), I posted them early on in this thread, somewhere about the 60th post.

Ummm I never said anything about astrology, I have read many books but my final views at this point is the same as a god, more fairytales to console the masses with a catch-all.

While you yourself would seek to control the masses by other means? Like a "catch-all" of love of the planet and environment? I know your views well enough. Implied in your distaste of what people teach their children is your intent to force people to teach their children the way you would have them taught.

Vic, there is a big difference between studying it and believing it. I hope you know that.
I never said studying it is bad. Actually it might be great way to learn what NOT to follow blindly in the future. ;)
