I have heard that scientists recently found out that even things like the nutrition in a certain age (baby) is very important for your mental abilities.

and I think, that someone that has been in a cave all his life would not have a measurable intelligence, even if that started later on I think the intelligence lvel would be quite low.

Btw does someone know how Einstein did on IQ tests? I think a person can still have a brilliant idea without being the master of IQ tests.
I also think IQtests do not test intelligence but rather your ability to score well on that particular test you are taking.

PS: Thanks for the flowers gururu, but if i look at the average Joe in my country I highly doubt that there is intelligence at all, just look at the idiot we are electing :D (well same could be said about the idiot you guys are electing ;))

I think the basis for intelligence rests solely on will power and what you are taught when you are young. Once people understand how to figure things out and realize that there is a process to anything, I believe any person can learn anything. The problem is, most people are usually missing a piece of knowledge which doesn't allow them to form a correct assesment of most things and instead of chasing what they are missing, they chalk it down to 'not being able to understand this'.

Ah well, someday we will figure out the perfect formula to educate people.

Is it still true that humans can only use up to 3% of their brain ? I heard somewhere Einstein was atypical in that he used a lot more. I think it was genetics then.

Furthermore, I believe anyone who is a bit more genius than the smartest amongst the many humans who walk the earth are also a bit more wacked in the head. They just don't act as normal.

Are you including retards in this statement? Cuz as far as I know you can't do anything to make a born retard intelligent as a non retard.

u P.C. folks stay off my back I got a retard in my family(and no its not me) so I can use whatever term i please.

What courses do you have to have to become Einstein?

Nature sets the boundries, and nurture determines your place within them. You cannot become smarter than your brain will allow.

ahhhh, but the person with a bad genes can end up with good nurture as intelligent as someone with good genes and bad nurture. :)

so net effect, about half / half.

Probably cuz they understand typical human behavior better and are disgusted by it.

No, I wasn't really considering anyone with a learning disability (hence the term). But someday we will probably figure out what makes them tick also and fix it.
