not a religion thread, but do you think that if you want something so bad, and you work so hard, and you dont' succeed, at the end, you will still get what you want?

I believe that they are rare, but that they do happen from time to time.

No.

I believe that people who lack an understanding of science will falsely attribute something to a "miracle". Sort of like a woman who can't conceive, then goes to a fertility clinic has gets pregnant with septuplets. They say it's a gift from God. A scientist says the dose of fertility fertility drugs was too high.

In a roundabout way, yes. We always justify it even if we don't get it.

"I didn't want it anyway"

"Maybe it was better tings worked out this way"

etc.

No. First, what you get is not always what you need. Second, what does that have to do with defying basic physics rules, which should probably be updated to account for our ability to warp reality?

No. First he didn't say anything about need. he said want. 2nd what ability to warp reality are you talking about? You can never warp reality, if you could, that would be reality newly understood by you but not having changed in a very long time.

Notice the rules of physics haven't really changed much since about 10^-43 seconds after the big bang.

That's a bit of a different question. Of course, it's possible to not get what you want. That doesn't prove the existence of miracles one way or the other. Miracles do happen.

I guess an apt enough quote would be the ever-so-famous lyric by the Rolling Stones: "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just might find that you get what you need."

The most successful people DO have the ability to make their dreams come true. This has been proven again and again.

Read the thread title: miracle.
You can never warp reality, if you could, that would be reality newly understood by you but not having changed in a very long time.
That's getting more into philosphy than I was...

Yes, they have. Science's rules are a thing of Man. Miracles can not be explained by them, because they do not yet encompass whatever it is that allows miracles to occur.
