Do you believe in a heaven? Afterlife?

<< I don't believe there's a heaven. I think that when you die, you get buried and then you rot in the ground. >>

I agree with you. 🙂

The only real answer on this question is: "we don't know".

However, from a scientific point of view, after death the body simply decomposes into a wide variety of molecules. The personality of a person, together with all memories, skills etc. simply vanishes; it dissolves like steam in cold air. The energy from the body is simply radiated and conducted away from the body.

When you die, you go back to what you were before you were born. what that is, we will never know until we get there.

<< The only reason i made this post was so that i can see what people think. you think i really care about your remarks

You must be joking with this statement... If you didn't care about our remarks, then save us the time and don't post :|
>>

Very well said. That's what I was trying to say, in a nutshell...

<<

<< As for a persons "soul" which cannot be measured, that question has been around, and will stay around, forever I think. >>

I heard that "they" did studies where they weighed people right before death and again right after death, and there were a few ounces they were just gone and unaccounted for.

The "SOUL"??

Who knows.

Very interesting.... any way you could find a link?
Edit: Why in the world would the soul have weight? 😕

<< I'm not sure if I believe in God, or life after death, but there's one thing I'm certain of...... >>

Must everthing degenerate into a flame-war? Name-calling... so very mature.

No, this is something I read years ago in my pre computer days.

But if you search around a bit, you may find something on it.

EDIT: Though now that I think about it, it may have been in one of the Dr. Moody books I sited earlier in this thread.

What happens when you die? There is no judgment. There is no heaven or hell. You just die. Can millions of people throughout century upon century be wrong about religion (and its nonexistent-self). I accept people for what they believe in. I am not religious. I am afraid of death because I know I will not be around one day to see time pass. I can?t do anything about it. I educate myself, get a job, retire, and die. (Hopefully I will live a long life). Seriously what is up with this human cycle of life? The only real purpose of life is to reproduce and survive. We are no different than any other animal/organism on this planet. We all share the same fate of nothingness in the future. We cannot flee death. We are made of energy just like that rotting piece of bread between your couch. Our energy will be distributed to the land for energy for others when we die. To me that is much more beautiful than a self-fulfilling place like heaven.

KydLynx,

Your thoughts are something that we have all gone through at some time in our lives. I wonder, though, how you come to describe Heaven as self-fulfilling. The Heaven of the Christian Faith is a temporary residence; until there is the new Heaven and the new Earth wherein will be a new society.

I know things that are certain also....

See, now the truth comes out. You're an anti-religious bigot who came to be inflammatory to Christians. Let's see if you have enough brain cells to insult Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Taoists, Zoroastrians, and Wiccans, assuming you think you know what they're about.

I'm done being nice, so I'll just come out and say it: someone should ban your ass fast...

Well when you get your own Forums then you can make such decisions.

<< Actually on searching, the mans name is Dr. Raymond A. Moody.

Here is an interview with him I found with google.

Very interesting read. And no, he's not some crazy, dogmatic religious kook.

May I suggest.

"You kids stay out of my yard!!"

or perhaps

"That ball lands in my yard again, I'M KEEPING IT!!"
