Do you all wear a white T-shirt under a color one?

Guys since we are on the topic of T-shirts. I need to buy some new ones.

Would you say that the new Hanes Lay Flat collar (remember that Michael Jordan ad?) are the best for wearing with dress shirts and polos?

Best quality around?

My white Tees always suffer from bacon collars and don't last too long after awhile due to many washes.

Sears has a store brand called Covington, and they sell a heavy-weight cotton tshirt that is absolutely fantastic. I received a pack as a gift a few years back and won't buy anything else now. They have wrinkle-free colors, they're absorbent, they resist yellowing, and they add 3" on the bottom to prevent them from riding up. They run like $30 for a 4 pack.

i have white, grey and black undershirts i wear under everything, including other t-shirts
they are the correct size and dont look estupid like in that picture

Same here. I never ever wear one layer. But my undershirts never stick out the sleeves or at the waist.

Alky where do you buy your shirts and what brand? I find the shirts at Men's Warehouse work well for me however I'm not sure of the quality as I have already ripped two of their shirts right at my elbow.

Well I need to find a new merchant as JC Penney has pretty much ended it's higher end Stafford line. I am going to snag some of their better pants online as supplies are still available...

The Stafford Executive came in a nice heavy oxford cloth and both in fitted, standard and tall sizing in both types. All their shirts had 1/2" neck increments and 1" sleeves. Shirts that come 32/33 are too short and 34/35 too long.

I have been buying their suits and clothes since the mid 1980's. Their suit jackets did get a bit cheaper over the years (no more full lining on most of the lineup, but that wasn't such a big deal down in S. Florida....also I never cared for lined pants). Their shoes used to be re-branded Johnson-Murphy's as well and about $50-75 off those typical selling prices. Still an expensive shoe but it made it a one-stop shop for my full wardrobe for business.

Fortunately now I can get by in some nice dress pants and a polo type shirt most days. I am going to pick up the Stafford Essentials Sharkskin pants at $20 each right now online tonight. I have lost so much weight in the last couple months my pants bunch up now 🙂

I wish they had a size 35 though. I am going to need to buy 36's and then replace them in a month more than likely as I am targeting a 32-33" pants size when I can done cutting.

I'll clarify a bit. I wear a white tshirt under everything and it is not a v-neck. I like the look under polo shirts, dress shirts, and t-shirts. It has nothing to do with sweating or thickness of shirts or anything like that. I simply prefer the look of seeing the edge of the white collar from the inner shirt right above the collar of the outer shirt. Similar to picture in OP, without the inner one being bigger than the outer one, I just like the collar only being visible. With polos and dress shirts, I don't button up the collar all the way so I prefer to show the shirt instead of my chest. And no I'm not fat or anything like that (5'11", 170 lbs), just a preference I've had since I was in high school 17 years ago. And no I wouldnt wear a vest or something without sleaves underneeth, that'd be change and I don't like unnecessary change.

The only white tshirts I will wear are Staffords at JC Penny

I'm a big fat sweaty guy, so I wear a white Tee under the other T-shirts to contain the rain.

But they don't stick out that like 😛

I wear a white t-shirt under every shirt I wear, whether a polo, sweater, fleece, whatever, including color t-shirts. The white one is always smaller than the outer shirt though, I don't like the look in the OP pic.

Does that include Dri-fit or similar type shirts. Cause, is so, it kind of defeats the purpose of wearing one.

Ok, you got me, I guess I put a t-shirt under the vast majority of shirts I wear. No, not under a dry-fit/underarmour type shirt.

i wear a wife beater under pretty much everything.

only time i wear t-shirts under a shirt is on sundays when i'm wearing my teams football jersey for gameday sunday, and that is because the jerseys have those little holes in em.

In the summer, I don't wear an undershirt. I might wear one in the winter under a long sleeve shirt though.

Never under a short sleeve button up or polo - my god that look annoys me. Makes you look 12-yrs old, if you must, get yourself a V-neck white T.

Only under button ups when I'm at work. If I'm at the club in a L/S button up then no T and the top 2-3 buttons undone. And no, Gold Chain is not a requirement.

Jockey still makes the best mes underwear in my book - For T's get the Modern Classic Line.

Stafford was also excellent. Loved those shirts 🙂 They're still available:
