do you abide by carpool lane rules?

been living and driving in CA for last 20 years, and I recall it wasn't as bad as I'm seeing right now.

cheap drivers who ignore freeway carpool entrance for metered is minor, but those who crosses yellow lanes are freaking dangerous especially when carpool lanes has faster moving cars and people jump in from regular lanes.

I personally want to follow them and blow their tires up, but what do you guys think?

people who don't obey the laws of the road deserve every single punishment that can be inflicted on them.

Absolutely

Last time I was driving on the freeway regularly, they had just installed a bunch of carpool lanes, so the cops were hardcore out and about. So, yes.

Absolutely. I obey the rules of the road and if I need to kidnap 2 or 3 people to be able to use the carpool lane legally I'll do it.

Atlanta got rid of their HOV lanes in favor of for-profit HOT lanes. these are lanes that financially entitled get to use, but the costs are placed equally on everyone. Fuck you, Atlanta!

we're taking a different approach in CA, the carpool lanes are adding toll options - so carpoolers still ride free, but rich single riders can also partake.

I pay to use those lanes nearly every single day. There should be more of them quite frankly.

Bonus: When I ride my motorcycle I can use them for free.

No carpool lanes here, most roads arn't even double lane per side. When I do find myself on a double lane road I do abide by the GTFO off the left lane rule though unless I'm planing to turn left soon, or passing.

I'm pretty sure the HOT lanes still let carpooling on for free.

Funny story, I knew a guy who had a female mannequin that he would dress up to use as a passenger for carpool lane use. He wasn't weird with it (i.e. it wasn't a substitute girlfriend), but if he didn't have anyone to road-trip with, he'd set her up in the passenger seat & cruise in the HOV lane all the way to his destination.

In LA the carpool lanes are carpool 24/7 and I would rarely drive in them alone. Now that I'm in the Bay Area, they are only carpool during certain times of the day and they so far seem hardly looked at by cops so yes I use them everyday because you Bay Area drivers suck.
