Do ya'll use Windows XP with the ClearType enabled?

What's this ClearType you people speak of? I don't have XP yet.

It looks great on my 19" trinitron... The first time I tried it, I didn't like it, but now that I'm used to it, I think it looks way better than the old way.

you just need to get used to it. When I started using my PC more than my Mac (which has had anti-aliased/cleartype fonts forever) my eyes couldn't stand the nonanti-aliased fonts. I just got used to it. Time to switch again hehehe

No, I didn't like the way it looked on my CRT. Haven't seen it on a flat panel though.

cleartype is definately much better than no cleartype on my main pc, with a KDS vs-195 19" monitor, the text is darker and more defined on web pages, when I disable it you can tell the text seems thinner and lighter, less defined and less readable

It's looks too blurry on my CRT, and no my monitor doesn't just suck.

Makes them look blurry on the CRT. Anyway, I can get the same effect by turning down the moire correction on it.

To use ClearType for screen fonts
Open Display in Control Panel.
On the Appearance tab, click Effects.
In the Effects dialog box, select the Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts check box.
Click ClearType in the list.

Go to display proporties, Then the "appearance" tab, then click on "effect", then you should see option to enable cleartype
