Do women have too much power now?

I want to start by saying I do not support mainstream feminism...and let me tell you why.

It seems now that, despite what most feminists would have you believe, women are actually more privileged than men are. Men are always to blame for everything and I'm sick of it.

Don't believe me? Take pop star Ariana Grande, this month she called out "sexist double standards" when it comes to how female celebrities are portrayed in the media:

YET here's a tweet she made last year referring to men as "furniture":

I'd like to see male feminists defend that.

Though they probably don't find issue with that sentiment, since pretty much all male feminists look like the guy in this video:

So there you have it. Mainstream feminism isn't about equality.

No more misogyist trolls needed.

I can see you've already posted this on other forums as well.

No, I don't think so. At least not on average. Too much of a woman's influence/power is tied to her appearance. That means a lot of less attractive women are marginalized, and all women lose their influence/standing as they get older (aka the opposite of men). Sure Taylor Swift can make Apple do whatever today, but when she is 50 no one is going to care about what she thinks.

The answer is a resounding NOPE.

On the whole, no, they do not. As a male feminist-ish, I can can see that tweet for what it is - a joke. The reason nobody would actually take that tweet seriously is that, well, we're men. Nobody, male or female, uses us for furniture unless they're attractive, naked and invited. (And possibly well-paid.)

But I'm sure that everything that's wrong in your life is completely the fault of women who have abused their power over you, and are in no way a reflection on your character, intellect, work ethic, masculinity, government policies that screw over your socioeconomic bracket, education, your parents, or other potential factors.

Free iPod, sockpuppet, or clickbait for YouTube video from OP to get a little ad revenue?

To take the question more seriously than it deserves: No.

How many women do you know that want to or are CAPABLE of being a Fortune 500 CEO?

Doing things like comparing how much a woman makes to a man is one of the most laughable things. It brings down your intelligence when you can't even realize when you compare apples to oranges.

Only women can make up bullshit like a gender wage gap and have the country/media believe it.

They only have power over you if you let them have power over you.

"They" in this statement isn't just women. Every single "who" and "what" you can think of fits in place of "they."

QFStupidity...

I ask you:

Considering I work for a large accounting/consulting firm....

A shitload... An absolute shitload.

I work and talk with people in partner positions that work their god damn ass-off and somehow manage to have a family while devoting their life to work. I have no idea how they manage, but anyway...

Surprise surprise, the number of male partners severely trumps the number of females.

Nice try, toolbag 😀

I think you severely overestimate the abilities of the majority of the men you know, then.

Hard work != skill. not saying the partners aren't skilled, but time devoted isn't a good measure of it.

Surprise surprise, the number of male partners severely trumps the number of females.

I'd wager that the number of white male partners in you firm is larger than the number of non-white males as well. Does this mean white people are more qualified to run a business?

Nice try, toolbag 😀

You're the one saying fewer women than men are capable of running a Fortune 500 company, yet I'm the toolbag? 😕

I'm just asking everyone to stay on topic...this isn't a general gender issues topic, I'm pointing out that women are far more privileged than men, even though the media will have you believe otherwise. It's time for men to act like men and not like whipped dogs. Male feminists like being dominated by women so they want the whole world to be that way. Pansies, ALL OF THEM!

So you found one man-hating woman who let the fame get to her head?
Big deal.

Most people who say they support feminism mean they support equal rights, and that includes women.

You're getting your knickers in a wad over something that exists only in a small corner of tumblr and has been inflated by mememasters.

Women are privileged in some countries when it comes to divorce and kids are in the middle, plus they get big alimonies which were thought of in an era where women stayed home and if divorced they had nothing.

This is the only argument that holds some water.

This is changing though, in my country the kids will do half and half time with each parent as a default solution (I haven't kept up to date on how the thing went forward though, this should apply at least if the parents live in the same area of course).

Still, in most of the world, women do not have equal rights, let alone privileges.
