What has your experience been? Do they take it for granted? Is it our fate as men to accept as the natural order of things?

I'm perfect in every way so my wife doesn't nag or ask for anything. Maybe you have issues that you don't want to fess up to? :colbert:

Current GF I nag more then she does.

Ex-wife was 100% the opposite situation.

Women can't do all of the physical tasks men can, so they naturally become better directors and planners.
This often sounds like nagging.

I honestly can't remember the last time I asked my wife to do something.
I, on the other hand, get requests numerous times a day.

Both men and women are trained to think this, but in reality women really can do all the physical tasks men can do. The only time this is an issue is when brute strength is absolutely (but rarely) needed, but there are just as many petite men as there are petite women.

After knowing my wife for 13 years ... when she does nag I tell her to stop and I generally don't do what she asks so I am happy.

No way does she nag at me. She's got it good and knows it. If anything it's the other way around.

Seems to come and go in an unpredictable way but she generally nags infrequently. But then I don't just sit around on my couch or computer chair all day so that probably helps

I perceive her as nagging more than she does because she nags inappropriately.... lol not sure if there is an right way to nag.

She will nag me to do 2 things while I'm balancing on a ladder, drilling over my head, holding up a 2x4, while yadda yadda yadda. The real problem is that if I complain about her nagging me or let her know her requests are annoying, she gets very defensive and it almost ALWAYS turns into an argument or "serious talk" (OMFG PLEASE NO).

I just do whatever the fuck she asks and grumble to myself. It's easier I think. :D

Married for 8 years now.

My wife doesn't really nag. I find myself nagging to my wife and kids more about dad things that are costing me money. Eg: turn off the lights! Close the door the air is escaping! Put that GD Milk back in the fridge!

I've found my wife just bitches waaaaaaaaaaay more. Mostly about the crap responsibilities of being a mom. Eg the struggle of feeding the kids and cleaning up. I guess this is a type of nagging but she isn't actually asking me to do anything.

7.5 years basically free of any nagging at all. I'm sure I'm in the minority.

Having no kids and no wedding ring probably helps a lot...

What I've read is many woman "by nature" nag. There exist some sort of genetic/personality component from early childhood. They witness it with their mothers to their dads and think this is the only way to get through with men.

No nagging. But I guess it depends on your dynamic. We respect each other enough as adults to treat each other as such. If your SO needs to constantly harp at you like you're some little kid, then that says something about how they feel about you. You should find someone with whom you can be equals.

And that "happy wife" saying is a crock. Both people's happiness matters equally.

So next time I'll ask my wife to pull the 175 lb transmission out from the vehicle w/o dropping it cracking the aluminum casing.

Or maybe better pull up two layers of vinyl flooring that was installed by the previous owner using a solid steel floor scrapper with a metal blade. As the layers of flooring come up shove your foot under the layer allowing the 1/4" plywood (plus many layers of vinyl) to lean (with force) against your leg, while metal staples press and pierce into my wife's legs. When you drive the scrapping blade under material you have to pull your arm back and stab it under the floor repeatedly with a large force (like stabbing someone).

Here's another one, when our well pump goes out, cut the power, go outside and pull the well head off. Tread in a 10' T-bar into the pitless. Hold the T bar tight (with your life). Pull the pitless release cable. Immediately you will feel the sheer force of 220 feet of black flexible conduit along with the 220 V well pump along with the weight of all that water along with a vacuum from the surrounding air pressure trying to force that bitch deeper into the earth. If you drop that mother fucker you are out several thousand dollars as you will sheer the pitless and the pump will hit the bottom.

Use your muscles to pull at least 20 feet of pipe from the ground. Hook that to a vehicle/tractor and drive pulling more and more pipe out from the ground.

When a man says he is going to do something he is going to do it. There is no need to nag him every six months about it.
