Jake Lloyd from the first one lives 2 houses down back 1 house.

Hehe, I thought some of you would freak out and pay me to get his autograph. Remember? He's the one from Episode I

Anyway, he really does live 2 houses down 1 house back.
I was restraining myself from offering you $20 to go give him a beating, but the awful writing and stupid plot weren't his fault. Now if you lived two houses away from Lucas....

I'm a fan of the original trilogy (Han Solo fired first!) and enjoyed the Brian Daley Han Solo books, but I already liked Daley from his "real" SF. The Alacrity and Hobart trilogy (#1= Requiem for a Ruler of Worlds) are space opera classics up there with David Brin and EE "Doc" Smith. If you enjoyed the Solo books you really should get these.

If George Lucas lived near you, I'd pay you to beat his ass for introducing Jar Jar in Phantom Menace. :D

I like Star Wars, but I'm not the "camping out in front of the theater trying to use Jedi mind tricks on people" kind of fan, though.

If it wasn't for that weak-minded fool, Palpatine would not have been given supreme control over the senate. The Imperials of EP4, 5, and 6 would never have existed, and there wouldn't be a reason for those episodes. Luke never would have learned the ways of the force and the Jedi Academy would never have been built. Does he suck ass? Absolutely. But sometimes a little ass sucking can do some good.

I'm not disputing that, but Jar Jar still annoyed the living snot out of me. At least they toned him down in AOTC.

Agreed. I think it's just another reason to hate Jar Jar. :p Have you seen the screen test video that someone made up as a parody? It's hilarious!
