It's nice, but the biggest issue I have with black is that it completely drowns out any recognizable features and body lines of the car. Charcoal is almost black but allows the trim and features to contrast a little and not look like a solid single blob of color.

Nothing is meaner than Matte Black...

Matte black looks like they forgot to finish painting the car.

Nice termi, I'm with you on the gray also.

Sorry, no fancy shots. The sun was setting one day and looked a bit crazy as I was walking out to the car and snapped it with my phone. Pictures usually don't seem to do gray justice though.

THIS is a good point. On some cars it works on some not. Really each car has it's own color that it looks better in. I have a black one and a silver/gray car. The black car looks worse when I have seen it in gray and the gray car looks way better in silver/gray to me. Personally the stang looks way better in gray than black to me.

Hey Exdeath, since you have a car with crazy HP what is your reaction when you get a 911 TT or GT2 pulling next to you? Anything? Does anyone let loose or does the 911 usually think your car does not have what it does have under the hood? Have you ever come across a car that has been a lot faster than you thought it would have been?

I'm a pretty chill driver, I don't go for it unless the other person is clearly asking for it, either by actions or literally rolls down the window and asks. If something like that is pulling by but they aren't revving or antagonizing in anyway, I just give a thumbs up and let them go about their way. I've got nothing to prove and I don't like being a dick and putting down other people's rides.

The original reason I got into a car like this, before it was just being into cars for the sake of it, was that I was tired of people in nicer cars being total kawks to me in my stock Camry beater. So many douche bags in Mustangs, BMWs, 350Z, etc eager to burn the tires and jack rabbit start at the light and cut me off with 2 inches to spare just to prove their car is better than a 130 HP Camry. I'm not about to turn around and do the same thing to other people just because I can.

17 year old car that has had 4 owners and 120k miles for $40k? No thank you. Nice looking car, good power numbers, but not worth that. That CD sized tail pipe is simply hideous, ruins the looks of the back of the car, doesn't look any better from the side either.

Wow, you sir are a rare driver. Wish there were more like you out on the road.

I get so much of that (granted a lot of it is to do with my car). Some guy in his fart-canned civic will pull up next to me and start revving. I just let the light turn green and let him screech off. I bought my car so I would have something fun to drive back and forth from work and school. And then maybe do some modding once I actually get some money.

I was driving home one day and some douche (flat billed hat, gangsta leaning, etc...) in his 300c SRT8 pulls up next to me and starts revving (this was on a minor road near home w/ speed limit of 40). I shifted down into 3rd and he heard it and took off. Luckily I thought better of it and shifted back into 6th and just decided to relax (being broke and leaving the computer display on fuel economy sure helps). Sure enough, a minute or so later I see flashing lights and a 300c SRT8 pulled over on the road entering my neighborhood.

I prefer a dark or midnight blue or british racing green to gray, and I currently have a silver car.

Never said it had to be THAT specific car or that it was worth $40K. Just saying if I ever get a Supra, it will look like that one.

Also the large exhaust is justified (though you can still over do it even on a Supra). Turbo you want a large exhaust to create the most possible pressure differential across the turbine by eliminating all pressure behind it. When you throw a big turbo on an engine, forget everything you've heard about back pressure, scavenging, etc, it no longer applies and there is no such thing a too big. The turbos completely scramble the exhaust pulses.

And it's 6 cylinders/3L going through a single pipe, unlike the twin pipes of a dual bank engine, so that one pipe has to be bigger. When ricers do big pipes and don't need them, this is what they are emulating.

In fact that exhaust isn't much bigger than stock. The only thing I didn't like was the Vatozone special fake fog lights.

Bah, its annoying when douchebags actually have decently fast cars. Usually it's just the V6 with the catalog of Bentley parts. What do you have that someone feels the need to race you with an SRT8?

Also notice that the tip itself is barely any bigger than the actual piping.

Turbos need to breathe. 😀

Regardless of functionality, it looks retarded. A huge tailpipe is not necessary for huge HP.

At least make an attempt to conceal it somewhat if you have to have one.

Not like this.

I doubt that even has the ground clearance to make it up my driveway.

You're wrong. That's a turbo car and add to that it's not a 500hp car it's a 1000hp car. Serious Turbo cars need as little back pressure as possible. Back pressure= turbo inefficiency= high EGT's.
Would you want to sacrifice your turbo just to make you feel better?
If you think I'm wrong I suggest you read Maximum boost by Corky Bell.

600 whp, says in the ad, would needed a bigger turbo and race gas to go higher. The way it is now is probably fast spooling and nice streetable wide power band. But yeah, huge exhaust is next best thing to a 12" long dump pipe out the fender or nothing at all.

A pipe like that backed with a 3-4" exhaust tubing all throughout is pretty normal for a modded turbo Supra. It's a lot to flow 6 cyls with only one pipe. A 1.5L Honda it is not.

So if you're designing for a 4" diameter pipe, would two 2.8" diameter pipes provide the same effect? The area of two 2.8" pipes is roughly the same as that of a 4" pipe, if you don't feel like doing the math.

If that wasn't a BMW I'd say that looks more like someone only had enough $ for a box of black Krylon spray cans for an in-driveway paintjob, sans masking trim... Less mean than trailer park, really.

Yeah 🙁 Although it can look pretty cool from certain angles on certain cars, I wouldn't do it personally.

What is cool (and hellishly expensive I would assume) is quality real carbon fibre everywhere. The fake stuff is pretty cheesy, but the real deal is really impressive :

Btw, I approve of OP's taste in cars, and yes, large exhaust (particularly on an I6!!!!) is SOP for big power with forced induction. You can be a little sleeker with a V6 or V8 and a TT setup and twin exhaust, but that's a totally different ballgame than the typical big-single turbo modded RB26 and 2ZJ-GTE setups.

Yes, pretty much, although the 2.8" exhaust will lose more heat and backpressure will increase slightly (probably by a negligible amount).
