Do unpaid internships stand out to HR?

A lot of positions on my school's career web site are unpaid internships. Many of them are quite interesting, but I'm hesitant to leave my paid internship for an unpaid one.

Do unpaid internships stand out? If you were a hiring manager, would you see that as a plus?

Or does that not matter? I.e. the bottom line, paid or unpaid: what type of work you did is most important.

does the fact that it's specifically unpaid stand out? no.

but internships in general do if they're relevant to your career path.

Internships in general mean something - you're gaining relevant experience.

I don't think anybody in HR would care if it was paid or unpaid.

if u don't put it down on your resume that it was unpaid, they won't know, unless they ask you or call up the place). but they won't care anyway. so why include it, or exclude it?
doesn't matter either way.

An unpaid internship is not a bigger plus than a paid internship. The experience is what matters. Most employers don't even require you to tell them what your compensation was at all of your past jobs (if they ask, they usually only care about your last job).
