Most modern day trolls have no Troll craft. Remember the Skoorb effect? Now that's trolling with class.

it used to be funny because it was done well, the trolls today are just unimaginative and juvenile and transparent as hell.

A good troll needs to do nothing more than utter a simple phrase to incite feverish debate between people and usually the troll should never post after the initial post since there is rarely a need. The focus of the trolling debate should also not include the troll.

While they're only my thoughts on what makes a good forum troll (is there such a thing? :p), a lot of the people that are labeled trolls today don't even meet the above criteria as it's normally just inane bitch fights anymore.

Pretty much agree wit Platypus, there simply aren't enough bridges to support a troll popluation like we're dealing with .. and many have come out from under their bridges.

Like others have said, it depends. I usually find 95% of them annoying and stupid though. Now someone like blackinches, that's what I'm talkin bout.

I agree with meltdown and platy. Nowadays I scan through for the latest news, or videos to watch. No point in replying to anything, since nobody is going to respond to any type of comment with anything relevant to say, unless its a bashing post, and then everyone can stay with that theme.

The new "hip" thing to do, is find an offbeat way to post how a religion is fail, but not directly state that its your intention to do so. Then the anti-religious zealots come in and estroke each other.

I wish we could have a religion forum, and an antireligion one as well, so all of them can go their respective corners.

I dunno. I don't think we have many trolls. I'm pretty close to Aikouka's definition. A real troll shouldn't be readily apparent, or a one trick pony. A thread should be on page 2 at least before people start realizing they've been had.

I get a feeling some people are lumping the pig into the troll category. On that point I completely disagree. The pig has many profound truths, that are cloaked in inflammatory language. It's up to the end user to find the truth, and not get wrapped up in the delivery.

I don't miss fleabag but he wasn't so much a troll as an ignorant fucktard.

I like people that point out and attack my weaknesses, helps me to grow stronger.
