Dr. Paul used to be in that category because he couldnt say no to people who probably crafted a lousy budget for him in

Ayn Rand lived and died a terrible statist and a piss poor thinker compared to dr. rothbard. The ironic thing is that rothbard could actually act in his "own rational interest" without saying it was the ultimate virtue when rand couldnt even give a good explanation as to why she took welfare. She was a hypocrite and a dumb fuck who gave liberals a damn good excuse to disregard the market and to support the state.

See this also. It may indicate that too many people consider themselves libertarians and while not unethical in itself, it shows how uneducated most people have became. Look at what Johnson has been doing... he has been smoking way too much pot to think rationally, is power hungry, is a Koch plant or perhaps any mixture of those three. Johnson is little more libertarian than the average person is, unless what I read on wikipedia was wrong and that would have to be a lot wrong.

All of that said it makes me wonder... Why do so many people consider themselves libertarians when many of them support romney who could raise more govtrevenue than Obama realizes? The taxation only needs to happen because the govt wants to spend. I just don't think we can afford the labels anymore, because you either support anarchoconfederalism or you support the state. yes, i realize my own name is a label but at least it shows that I realize there is no middle of the road avg. in life... thinking moderate is cool is what fucks us up. Hell, neoconservatism is so "moderate" on everything but foreign policy. Moderation being portrayed as good is a key to keeping the state powerful.

I can only conclude that... short of Dr. Rothbard's ghost shutting the state off and keeping it off forever, there is no possibility that humanity can be free, peaceful, and prosperous for the long term.

I would think most elves identify as socialist, what with their gift redistribution antics every Christmas.

Such is the fate of ideological purists who know the way. There is only one war and that is with the self. Only the individual can escape. The kingdom of heaven is within you. To the extent you find that kingdom within you, you will have done all that can be done. And if you find it love will tell you what to do.

I was typing on an iPad and realized it before I saw that anyone said anything. I am sorry about that, but I can't help it.

I use an android phone and am constantly messing up posts. It isn't that you made a mistake, but that it conjured up an amusing image. As someone once said "I couldn't help it, it ran out in front of me". : D

I don't do the grammar nazi thing.
