Do those TV projector kits really work/look decent?

Hey guys,

Lately I have been seeing these kits sold that attach to a small tv (13"-20") and project it up to 100"-200".

Has anyone seen one of these in real life? Do they actually work or are they full of crap? I am assuming they they can actually project, but are damn fuzzy or something, otherwise they would be more common.

I was thinking about slapping one on a monitor, so I could play StarCraft with some HUGE ZERGYS!!!!

:)

Thanks

Shawn

Looks great with my 36" tv. although it's really big, so it already has a really powerful lights. it's almost blinding in the dark without the projection, so it looks great with the projection. With all projections though, looks best in a dimly lit room.

FYI, before you buy a kit from ebay, there's plans availble for free online. There was just a thread last week about them here IIRC.

Not having seen this kit you're talking about, it probably isn't any better than the do-it-yourself instructions MrBond mentioned. A friend of mine followed those DIY instructions. He says it isn't bad, just that the image is too dark. But for what you pay (like 7 bucks in material) it can't be beat.
