What I want to know is, does anyone know how much they cost? I seems impossible to find out.

My point :p

It seems the only way to actually find out is to go through a sales presentation of some type. I'm not a big fan of that type of marketing...

they have them on display at brookstone stores. there's a thread on viscoelastic pillows that's turned into a discussion on these matresses.

I would imagine that they would indeed be better than any spring mattress.

The price depends on the size, of course. I'd imagine 3,000$ is for a King, and the 530$ is for a Single or something.. lol

I got a latex matress from mattresses.net and I'm pleased with it. Saved a lot of money versus buying locally too for a better quality mattress.

I have a foam mattress topper that's about 3 inches thick. Even just that little bit makes a world of difference over just the mattress alone. A WHOLE mattress of that foam would be heavenly, but it's too $$$. :(

Tempur-Pedic Sizes and Pricing

And yes, they are worth the money. My aunt and uncle have a king size one, and I had a snooze on it when we were over there for a family gathering and I was feeling under the weather.

Best. Sleep. Ever.

I'm saving up for one as we speak. :D

We just got a queen-size Tempu-Pedic mattress and foundation and all I got to say is... OH MY GOD!

After weeks of researching and going to stores and trying different mattresses, this got our vote even though it was more than we had planned on spending.($1k) But after looking at the Stearns and Foster high end mattresses going for over $4000.00, this didn't seem that bad after all.

I can see why everyone is looking to make a "Tempur-like" product. The original still has a decent monopoly thus can command a nice price premium over oem type manufacturers. I predict foam style mattresses will be next big wave in bedding. Bigger than waterbeds ( :p)

I recommend to anyone to try one. That's the only true test.

I'm not advocating this mattress specifically, since I was almost a click away from ordering from mattresses.net for a substantial discount on the same "type" of mattress, but I found a retail store that I could actually try it out at very conveniently and they even offered to take the state tax off if my doctor would just write a letter stating a back problem existed. ( Is Tempur-pedic an official medical aid?)
I encourage anyone with sleeping problems or just plain back-aches to look into the latest visco type foam mattresses, regardless who you decide to go with.

And, that Tempur pillow---heavenly!

Sam's or Costco (can't remember which) has a memory foam topper that's about 2" thick that doesn't cost too much. If you put it on top of a mattress that's not a POS, it should be good :)

latex mattresses have ALL the advantages of tempurpedic without the major disadvantage, tempurpedics eventually break down, latex doesn't.

tempurpedic is popular because of the marketing, but they aren't necessarily better than Latex.

latex ROX. i got one from the same place as riprorin.

believe me, it's worth every penny.

do you know of any latex mattress reviews? especially ones that are not from mattresses.net.
i've been thinking about a foam top but latex might be an option.

Ya, I read that incredible thread before, but I thought my response was more pertinent to this thread since it was precisely my answer to his question.

While I'll agree that I was swinging towards the latex mattress at mattresses.net, I had a tough time forking out $1244 for a delivery of a mattress that I would have to return if I didn't like and lose money in shipping charges. The Tempur was more expensive, but if we don't like it, we have paid no delivery charges, and we can buy a conventional mattress without any loss in money. Plus they had the 120 day comfort guarantee. That's pretty re-assuring, even against another product costing $400 more. Plus, like I said, we didn't even have to pay sales tax and shipping or delivery fees. A true no cost test drive.

If I didn't like the latex mattress from mattresses.net, I would have to pay for the original shipping ($149, plus at least that amount in return) for a trial. This way, I don't have to pay anything should I decide to return it.

i have. i have the latex one at home and i've tried the TempurPedic one at Brookstone.

no difference. not for me anyway.

I have a Tempurpedic pillow and there has been a definite loss of elasticity over the last 3 yrs. i've had this latex mattress for the same length of time, and absolutely NO loss of elasticity.

FOR those that live in the NorthEast, check out www.croydonmattress.net they carry a similar line of Latex Mattresses, a bit more expensive than www.mattresses.net but you can try it out and you can return it.

btw, they have 3 locations near philly.
