Do they sell 1GB DDR400 DIMMS that are single-sided?

Reason I ask is that my mobo can support up to 4GB, but if you fill all 4 slots with 1GB double-sided DIMMS, then they will run as DDR333 instead. I'm not sure how huge of a difference that would make, but figured I'd look for some single-sided and decide if it was worth it. I can't find any so I guess they don't make them?

I'm thinking of upgrading to 2-1GB DIMMS now and then later, maybe when Vista comes out, I want the option to upgrade further. My reason for upgrading now is for better performance in EQ2 :p

Links or advice appreciated. I'm reading some of the recent Anandtech articles now regarding 1GB DIMMS.

The mem controller on Newcastles to Winnies can handle 4 banks/sides at 400Mhz and 8 at 333Mhz. In the E revision, Athlon64s now support 8 banks/sides total at 400Mhz but at 2T instead of 1T.

note that banks and sides are two different things. People tend to mix them up. You can have a 2-sided dimm that has one bank. Unfortunately, there's no single sided/bank 1GB dimms.

So If you have a newer core Athlon64, you *should* be able to run 200Mhz with all 4 slots filled with double-sided 1gb dimms @ 2t for a total of 8 banks.
