Do they make 24" wide side-by-side fridge/freezers?

I have determined that there is an inherent design flaw in French door refrigerators. It seems like everyone I talk to has the same problem we do, the condenser drain gets clogged up and water starts leaking into the pan in the freezer section, eventually filling up, freezing over and then water leaks out onto the floor.

Instead of calling a repair guy out every year or two to fix it (because trying to get into the freezer to DIY which SHOULD be easy isn't in my freezer) and paying stupid money, I figure we should look at upgrades. What we really want is a professional/commercial style side-by-side, since we tend to utilize all the space we can get as a family of seven. Something like this:

These are actually two separate units, but they look nice together. The single units are all-refrigerator units so those obviously won't work. The problem is the space in our kitchen is 51" wide, and those two units are 32" each. I was wondering if anyone knows of "smaller" commercial-style fridge/freezer combos like this that might fit without having to take out cabinets in my kitchen. My google-fu isn't working today for this.

I hate side by sides. I much prefer the refrigerated section with French door on top, and a pull out freezer below.

24" stand alone would be really awkward. By the time you accounted for the sides and insulating you'd have a *really* narrow available amount of space.

I've got these Fridgidaire side by side units:

They are the 32" variety though. Paid about $2000 for the set. $800 each + $200 for the trim + tax. Absolutely love the freezer side. It's enormous and incredibly useful. I can't stand the fridge side though. It's "counter depth" and with that comes serious compromise in how much stuff you can put in them. I've found that I value width in my freezer due to organization, but depth in my fridge due to awkward sized things like crock pots, salad bowls, more than 2 jugs of milk, ect.

Here's the narrowest I've found, at 30"

Did you not read?

27" wide, they do not give those away either, so just bend over now and get ready. TBH im not sure anyone makes ones that are 24" side,

27" is too big unfortunately. Damn.

No, you found a manufacturing flaw in the one you have but thought it was a better idea not to get it replaced while under warranty.

Reading. It's fundamental.
None that I have ever seen, used, had people talk about, etc.... have ever done that. :p
Thus its related to you as you know the only people that have that issue.

Figure out what is in common between the one you have the others... which is not just it has doors.

Do they have to be two separate units because you can buy 48 inch wide side by side fridge/freezers combined? It does seem like all of them have smaller freezers section than fridge section, if that matters.

No, in fact I'd much prefer a fridge section that can "hold a pizza box" for example. I was just trying to maximize the space on both size. Thank you though, I will look at those links!

I have a maytag. I've talked to various people at work that have had this same problem with Samsungs, GE's, Kenmore's, etc.

Regardless, I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone - I need a bigger freezer as well, and having more fridge/freezer space overall would be ideal. I just don't want to have to remodel the kitchen if I don't have to.

yamer yamer yamer; i'm going to make some statement in contraction of the OP because I didn't read it, then i'm going to argue that I'm right anyway; something I never would have done had I actually read the OP.

My Whirlpool French door fridge with the extra vegetable drawer doesn't seem to have this problem.

Sunny you're looking for 2 24" to put together? They don't make 48 or 50" wide ones?

EDIT: wow $10K and it doesn't seem like it offers that much space. But at least now you know there are 48" models.

More reasonable 47".
