Do the so called Atheists on AT give Atheism a bad name in general?

You'd be a fool to think that the same evil would not have been brought onto the world without the existence of religion.

I would say the exact same thing. Almost made it the clearly defined point of my post, but that would be to ignore the reasons people feel threatened by religion today. There are legitimate gripes to be found, based on the religious failing to actually be religious. Then I said those failings are human in nature.

So I took the long winded approach to detail what you said. Apparently it was not well understood.

Part of the problem is trolling by the religious folk of ATP&N against atheists, saying things like "atheism is a religion", refusing to understand that atheism is a lack of a belief system / religion.

I understand where that comes from - people see Atheists organized under political / other affiliations.
