When I had Sprint, my name would go through when I called someone.

On Verizon, only my number goes through.

Dial *7 and then the number to block caller ID. Caller ID can be turned off completely by calling Sprint.

I think one of my friends has Sprint. It's always *private* on caller id when she calls.

Whenever a sprintpcs subscriber calls my apartment their name and number appear on my callerid. However when they call on me on my cell only their number appears unless they are in my phone book. If you dial *67 before you call someone, they will appear as Private Name and Private Number on a calllerid box.

No I didn't call anyone... I don't even have a cell phone.

Someone called me and their number (and name) showed up on my caller i.d.
and I thought they were on a cell phone but all other cell calls that I have received only show the number and the name of the PHONE COMPANY (not the name of the caller).

No current cell phone can receive Caller ID Name. All you get is the phone number, and then if they are in your phone book, most cell phone will match the number with the name and then display it for you.

I receive Caller ID #s from my Sprint friends on my cell, and if they are in my phone book on my cell their name comes too (duh) :) Don't have a caller ID display at home, but from what I hear, most people it just says Wireless Call as the name...Cingular is trying to start putting the account holder's name on the Caller ID for their subscribers who call others, but this would be to my disadvantage, since the account is in my grandfather's name (and he has a different last name). I would rather it just say wireless call, and my phone #.
