Good for her. Thank God some people still have the balls to show some morality.

better don your flamesuit 😛

It's not even possible for me to feel the heat. I vote for civil unions and tax incentives for committed significant others as a concession to human rights for the homo crowd, because I understand that just because they unfortunately were "born" with the defect of being homosexual, doesn't mean they can be denied certain rights. I just don't like the sound of gay marriage. 😛

do you consider there to be a difference between a "civil union" and marriage in the legal sense (ie, obtaining a marriage license from a justice of the peace)?

some people say "civil union" is ok, but "marriage" is not.. which i don't get, since it's simply semantics at that point 😛

Semantics from my pov

I'm not that worried about it. If society votes to allow gay marriage, so be it. Personally though, I don't think homosexual behavior is something that should be positively reinforced. I personally think it is a sick behavior. But I also think it's petty compared to the big picture and it's not something I'm going to get up in arms about. It's just easy to say how I really feel behind this monitor where it doesnt really matter.

Like the fact that Perez Hilton is considered normal. That guy comes across as a sicko who injects estrogen everynight. Yea, that's exactly who I want my sons having as role models. Perez and Pedobear. You can't tell me you can look at Perez, how he talks, and say "oh, that's normal." He might as well be dressing in drag and trying to say its normal for a guy to act like that. He's a clown.
What should we do about all the animals that exhibit homosexual behavior? It's not something that has to be encouraged, it's just a part of nature.

I don't hold animals and humans on the same level.

I'm going to assume you are older (>35). With that assumption I will make the following statement.

I can't wait for the older generation to die off so we can legalize filesharing, marijuana, gay marriage, etc. and then get on with our lives.

So in otherwords, we should tolerate everyone except those whom we disagree with.

Not tolerating the viciously intolerant such as the KKK != not tolerating "those we disagree with."

I disagree with deeko about some of his yearly NFL predictions but I don't lump him in with Joseph Stalin or Joesph Goebbels. Understand?

Your crude re-phrasing attempt was pathetically weak.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

What is a bit amazing about this is the large amount of reasonable replies on this subject in the ATOT forum.

What's not amazing is the one idiot doing most of the trolling given his love to troll in that other forum.

Says the troll while trolling.

Why did the judge even ask her that question? Who gives a flying fuck what she thinks? Just reeks of the judge trying to garner more attention for himself, "look at me I'm a gay, woohoo!! I like to get railed in my butthole!!!"

Do you always associate the behavior of a few with the behavior of everyone in a subset?

Do you think all black people act like thugs and deal drugs or are rappers wearing diamonds and gold in their teeth because you saw it on TV?

If I had children, which I won't, I would never let them look up to someone like Perez Hilton either. Also what does pedophilia have to do with anything except being a hyperbolic statement that has no relevance at all?

Why the hell is Perez Hilton even judging yet alone a celebrity. The guy is a flaming attention whore douchebag.

Why ask a question if you are going to deduct points for an honest answser. He actually said that she lost because of her answer.

I hope that douchebag gets hit by a bus......he deserves no respect for his thoughts/opinions if hes not going to respect people for theirs.

Good for her. She speaks for the majority of Califorians and Americans.

The gay lobby are some of the most intolerant people around. If you don't agree with them 100%, you're instantly labeled as a bigot and a homophobe and they go into name calling like 5 year olds instead of having a rational discussion.

I don't know why we just can't agree to disagree. The homos can keep doing the bone dance with mr. sphincter and I can keep teaching my kids that they should not treat gay people any different, but homosexuality is immoral.

Yea those intolerant assholes want to marry the people love....the nerve. The gall of such a demand is totally unbelievable and cannot be reconciled with my own extremely narrow personal view of how the world should be.

Them queers should shut up if they know what's good for em.

99% of people are reasonable. but those who lobby (one way or the other) probably aren't in that 99% figure. that's why they're lobbying.

Hilton served as a judge for the Miss USA 2009 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 19, 2009. During the Q&A portion of the contest, Hilton's question came to the Miss California representative, Carrie Prejean. Hilton asked:

?Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not??

Prejean responded:

?Well I think it?s great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. You know what, in my country, in my family, I do believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offence to anybody out there. But that?s how I was raised and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you.?

Hilton called the answer ?the worst answer in pageant history?. Later on his blog, he remarked "She lost not because she doesn?t believe in gay marriage, she lost because she?s a dumb bitch!"[49]

While Hilton is an attention whoring asshole her answer contradicts itself. First she says that it's great to be an American who can choose then goes on to say she opposes gay marriage as a matter of policy (the whole "in my country bit") implying there should be no choice. I know probably it's probably taxing on her to for her to stand up and talk at the same time but she could try a little harder.

If you think she represents the majority of Americans, then why would she or they be proved wrong. There is no right or wrong. Other than gays want people to accept them for being gay and to show them compassion, but If someone doesn't agree with the gay person, the gays all critisize and ostrasize the "straight" person.

The whole gay marraige thing is a cluster fuck of gays wanting to be an elevated class, not an equal class.
If gays are allowed to marry, how do you handle divorce? Typically, in any marraige, the man will have to give up half his assets to the woman. What do you do when 2 gay men divorce? Who gets alimony? Who gets the house?
The only advantage the gays will have is the guy will already be acustom to being fucked in the ass.

Generally the tyranny of the majority has been regarded as a liability to liberty not an asset.

We don't want compassion, we want the rights that should be ours under our system of law and to be free of codified religious oppression.

28, and I'm for for legalizing filesharing, mj, and civil unions. I'm also for removing "marriage" from the books of law, using the law to declare civil unions for tax/care purposes, and allowing individual institutes (such as a church) to sanctify marriages according to their own terms.

No, I think she put it well. She believes one way, but that she think's its great that in America there is choice. When someone stands up against homosexuality, 95% of the anti-homophobe bigots just make themselves look more intolerant than the people they are screaming at. You can't even state your opinion against gay marriage without being verbally attacked.

The whole thing seems perfectly ok to me. Expressing various opinions to see which ones hold water and which ones don't is pretty much how we get to the bottom of things in a free country right?

I think Miss California's opinion is not in the best interests of the people it concerns and gives undue importance to religious ideals. In fact, I would consider myself significantly less likely to vote for her as I think such opinions should not be rewarded in any way.

The problem as I understand it is that
a. Question was asked of a contestant.
b. Contestant gave her opinion.
c. A sponsor said they disagree with her opinion and why was she bringing up a political issue? Politics should not be part of this program (I'm sure you see the irony here)...

Further, people said things along the lines of:
"I think it's ridiculous that she got first runner-up. That is not the value of 95 percent of the people in this audience."

To paraphrase: We're going to ask you an opinion question but it's not really an opinion, agree with us or you won't do well (regardless of how the rest of the competition goes). Since they pay for/host the competition, I guess I really don't care that strongly if they enforce views like this. I guess I really don't see the issue because I really don't care about the pageant.

I would be interested to see how much she lost by and what score Perez gave her...

You don't want rights, you want special treatment. Marraige IS a religious idea. It was created under religion. The only legal ramifications are that you get a tax break and when you seperate, which you are at a 50/50 chance of doing, you get screwed.
You should be happy you can't get married, so when your SO cheats on you and you leave, he can't take half your stuff with him.
Though I'm against marraige, whether you're gay or straight. To many people want to get married when they have only been with someone for a year or 2. I can count on my hand the number of people I know that got married and it worked. 1. One friend that got married is still married today, 7 others have failed and are living miserable lives now because they can't let go of the petty bullshit and keep fighting with their ex in some attempt to be the victor in the battle.

Be gay, watch musicals and be happy. Marraige will only make your life worse.

You are aware that various societies and religions existed that allowed same sex marriages both prior to and after the rise of Christianity?

There are a host of rights conferred to the spouse by the legal institution of marriage in this country that any Civil Union available to same sex partners has yet to cover entirely. If you can get all references to marriage stripped out of the legal and tax codes then we'll give up fighting for it.

I agree, a light weight tard bucket was put on the spot and would have been harassed no matter which way she answered.

It's only news because so many adult American citizens still can't marry the person they love.

Wow, you sure are sure a Bastian of tolerance and dignity 😕

I quess you didnt call her a poo-poo head, Ive gotta give you credit for that.

Its attitudes/agenda's like these that make you almost a greater threat to the freedoms of all than those you speak out against.

Good luck with that.
